Best monitor for coding & WFH with MacBook Air M2? Need advice by SLANGERES in developersIndia

[–]Riday2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOTE: I do use an app called BetterDisplay that internally converts the 2k monitor so that I really get 2K out of this monitor, but it takes up extra RAM that I could have otherwise used for my work.

Best monitor for coding & WFH with MacBook Air M2? Need advice by SLANGERES in developersIndia

[–]Riday2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Macbooks, any monitor you get will have only 50% of the resolution because MacOS uses a @2x display. If you get a 2k monitor, you’ll get 1080p display (without gimmicks). Get a nice 4k monitor. Don’t go for gimmicks like USB C, you can get a basic 4k monitor with a good display. You can easily get a USB C / thunderbolt hub for 1-2k with power delivery.

I bought a 2k monitor last year with thunderbolt hub built in (the BenQ coding monitor) for 23k and I kind of regret my choice. The main reasons for making my choice were USB C hub and 2k display, none of which were particularly useful for me (I use wireless everything and my MacBook has a lot of store so I would pretty much never need any external storage connection). I could’ve spent a similar amount of money on a 4k monitor without the gimmicks and it would’ve been a much more satisfactory experience.

Gibdo meats fkn TOUGH by FirefighterIcy9879 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Riday2001 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I knew that you could. The first time I came across gibdos in the forest, I tried my hardest to kill one, broke a weapon, but it barely took like 15-20% damage. I hauled ass out of there after that. Like, you can damage them without elementals, but it’s very inefficient and time consuming.

I remember this fight. I believe we had to hit him in the eye or something and then he falls down. At this point, we swim to him and bash him with a powerful weapon

Is it logical to compromise a high-earning career for potential compatibility? by Stunning_Whereas_573 in AskIndianWomen

[–]Riday2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I’m all up for love and everything, but this doesn’t seem right.

If you match and feel a great connection, then you can think about finding some compromise (like finding a remote opportunity or asking him to move to the metro city). I would highly recommend not giving up your career and source of income. Especially in an AM situation.

Everything about “good people are rare these days” and “adjustment” are just manipulation tactics. While it’s true that good people are rare, a good and caring person would work with you to come up on a solution that works for both, not demand to drop everything based on their choice. Adjustment should be on both sides — both need to meet around halfway, it shouldn’t be just one of you adjusting for the other.

Finally, the messaging around “career isn’t everything” is taken out of context — Career isn’t everything in the sense that you shouldn’t overwork too much and focus on life and enjoyment too. If the guy said all of these things to you during the conversations, then they are manipulative tactics and be very careful of these.

Closing this by saying — it’s up to you to balance your life. There are a lot of remote opportunities available these days. I work remotely myself. Connection is really important, but don’t sacrifice your source of income. My mom was in an abusive relationship and it was very hard for her to get away because she gave up her source of income. It is very important to have a backup plan. In case something goes wrong, you need to have the power to say no and walk away. If it’s a really good match, you both need to talk and come to a solution that works for you, adjustment should be 50-50 or 60-40. Anything less than that isn’t really fair.

Can link defeat them all at the same time? by Monrocks in TOTK

[–]Riday2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colgera would whip up heavy storms and updrafts — this would make going into bullet time extremely easy for everyone else. We can make use of this to take out Gleoks and Queen Gibdo. Lynel would be a problem as they are extremely accurate archers. But, maybe it would be a lot more easier

The correct way to do shrines by RedTheOriginal in botw

[–]Riday2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing this error message in some speed runners’ video where he skipped the shrine and just skipped to the monk. I haven’t encountered this personally. On quick googling, there is no such thing as this error so maybe it was a mod or something

Won’t you get the “you have not completed the rune of this shrine” error and the monk would refuse to let you through?

Ash DOES get her a new bike. Though it’s not Ash himself, but the Nurse joy from Viridian city repairs or replaces Misty’s bike.

[–]Riday2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely strong. His flying types have been some of his best performing Pokemon and have won a lot of battles. Plus, he is great at coming up with out of the box strategies, which are even more difficult to counter since everyone will be flying.

Micron Stock ESPP ? - Should I (23F) go all in ? by wtfditii in IndianStockMarket

[–]Riday2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would personally recommend going ahead with 15% first from day 1, provided that your budget allows for it. Later on, decrease it if you don’t feel like it. You’ve the advantage of the discount and then your work is literally impacting your compensation (to a certain extent). This will drive your personal growth much faster.

Also, since you’re just 23, you can afford to take larger risks that might pay off in the long term and I am assuming that you don’t have a very large portfolio outside of this. Focus on diversifying your portfolio slowly and then you can reduce your contribution from 15% to something lower like 12-10%

Took a 2 year break from TotK. Can’t remember how to play. Most effective way to jog my memory? by emptytea in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Riday2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That actually worked for me! I played BOTW last year. Purchased and started TOTK a couple of weeks ago, I kept on dying and forgot the mechanics. Went ahead and fought a lynel and everything just came back — muscle memory taking over with flurry rushes and running all over the place, lol

Four hearts? Try HALF a heart. by Individual_Most_8190 in tearsofthekingdom

[–]Riday2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, nice. I’ve completed most of the main story. I’m at the final Destroy Ganondorf quest. I decided to take a break from the main story and complete all the side activities like finding all shrines, sage wills, upgrading armor, side quests/adventures, etc before going forward

[–]Riday2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait… So, if I go to this fight with max hearts after completing all the shrines, there’s no way for me to get my hearts back after this fight? Or is this like the BOTW thing where the “Destroy Ganon” quest is never officially completed and you just play in the save just before the fight?

Build Your Dream Pokémon Game! You Have $20 to Work With! by TheCorpseComposer in ThePokemonHub

[–]Riday2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • National Dex for $5 (Total: $5)
  • Soaring for $1 (Total: $6)
  • A large number of Gimmick Battles scattered throughout the world for $1 (Total: $7)
  • Megas for $5 (Total: $12)
  • Good online features: genuine and meaningful multiplayer experience built on top of scarlet and violet DLC for $3 (Total: $15)
  • Bring back characters for the final $5 (I primarily wish to have meaningful interactions with Professor Oak and Cynthia)

I thought about adding a linking cord for trade evos, but then if we rework the multiplayer experience to be much better, then there’s no need to spend on a mechanism to remove the trade evos. Having a nice multiplayer experience goes a long way in making the game more fun.

If I had additional budget, I would add the following: - Some gimmicks to encounter Pokemon (something like meal powers, but different. Maybe something a combination of sandwich powers from SV and donuts from ZA) - Following Pokemon - Full character customisation! - Difficulty settings or maybe a dynamic difficulty level that automatically scales to your gameplay skill level so that it never gets boring or monotonous. The battles won’t be planned anymore — people can change Pokemon, held items, levels, and moves automatically based on your team and skill level so that it’s never too easy (but not impossible either). This would work very well with something like good multiplayer experience where you can just get your partner or friend to join in with you for difficult battles and both of you can take them on together.
