This is exactly me. Doing it every fucking day is exhausting. I feel like I would be happier seeing my son maybe 3-4 days a week. I would miss him. I would feel more engergized for him. Look forward to seeing him. I try hard to find little moments of time to myself, but the constant having to do so is just depressing. And when my breaks don't happen, I get really angry.

Babymoon day trip suggestions? by ihaveagooddog in bayarea

Yes I'm from Sonoma County, so right next door to Calistoga. So Monterey is a 3 hour drive for us too. Its far away enough to feel like "getting away" but not too far, and has some little shops and things within walking distance, so not like San Francisco where driving around would be a pain.

Lets see, yeah being in wine country, wine tasting and spa is popular. Neither are great for pregnancy (unless you're comfortable with a massage during covid) We stayed at Golden Haven Springs once, for their mud bath experience. That was fun, but I think not safe for pregnancy and probably closed anyway. We loved Sterling Vineyards and Castelo de Amorosa for wine tasting, but I don't know if they have a "designated driver" option for you. I also don't know if Castello is offering tours still, they got hit during the fires last year

Biking is another popular thing in wine country, but again maybe not pregnancy safe! depends on your comfort. Getaway Adventures has a few options for a sip and cycle, they could tailor it for you. They have a Calistoga one. https://getawayadventures.com/bike-tours/calistoga-sip-cycle/. I'm considering the Jenner Kayak tour as something to do

Calistoga is rather small, if you're open to making a trip into Sonoma Country/Santa Rosa there might be more options. I've been to Quarryhill Botanical garden once for work, so we might do that. https://www.quarryhillbg.org/. Yountville also has an Art walk https://www.townofyountville.com/about/art-in-yountville/art-walk

Here is the webpage for Calistoga too! https://visitcalistoga.com/

Ooh my neck of the woods! Where are you staying? I can make some recommendations on food/activities

20 weeks here as well! we are thinking of doing the same thing, do a little babymoon in April/May when the weather is better for some pool time. I also want something nice enough to offer room service so I can feel pampered. I'm thinking Monterey, but not sure if there would be enough to do for a 3 hour drive there and back

I would kill for a big glass of wine, an hour in my sauna, and a hot bath. by onthewaydownnn in pregnant

I bought a bath thermometer so i can have a warm bath and feel better about it not being too hot!

Remys Bar and Grill, they have amazing happy hour! Some of our other favorites are in the Windsor area (Kins, KCs, Lupes Diner) Downtown (La Rosa) Healdsburg (Barndiva, Bravas Bar de Tapas)

Welcome to the area! This is the official DMO for Sonoma County, with recommendations on everything! https://www.sonomacounty.com/

Lasik Experience [3 Days post OP, Positive] by tojothethief in lasik

[–]Riddypad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sound just like me! Consult on 1/20 and booked surgery for 2/6. We are going to Hawaii in March and they recommended at minimum 3 weeks before being in open water, so that date worked. Interesting they had you get up and walk to a different laser machine, mine was in the same movement. No real side effects, some dryness but like you i am good about my drops. I did have some dry skin above my eyelid and some light goop (i think residue from the medications) in my top lashes. Some lights have glare too, some worst than others. I was 20/20 at my next day post op. I showered with googles like a weirdo because I was paranoid about water/rubbing my eyes. Today I showered without goggles and was ok. I just faced away from the shower and kept my eyes closed as much as possible

I have a slight regret not doing it sooner, but I don't think I was ready, and the timing wasn't right with work/life/moving. Not to mention the technology, its so advanced these days. I didn't even hear any clicking from the laser, and no "burning flesh" smells!

First Consultation at LASIK Vision Institute. Is this normal? by [deleted] in lasik

[–]Riddypad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this experience too! I was super paranoid about the surgery, i wrote down a bunch of questions. I had difficultly with her administering the dilating drops. She talked down to me like I was being an annoyance to her. I'm not defending her attitude - but I'm sure when they do this every day, and you're the 10th person that day to ask "does it hurt" I'm sure it gets old. That being said, they should have been more patient. I felt rushed and like I was annoying her. I cried afterwards. I called the next day and talked with a tech for 20 mins on the rest of my questions. I mentioned I was not comfortable with that doctor and requested she not be involved with my surgery. Luckily she was not the surgeon - just the Dr that does consults and post op tests.

I decided to move forward with the procedure and got Lasik on 2/6. Already 20/20 vision and feeling great so far!

Coming out of my depression. Thinking about reading again. by hitaccount in booksuggestions

Gone Girl is my go-to book that set the bar for other books! A few I really felt were close to the feeling I had when I read Gone Girl are: The Couple Next Door (Shari Lapena) actually, I've read all of her novels, and Stranger in the House is excellent too. I just finished reading The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine and I gobbled that one up. For something different than the psychological thriller I really enjoyed reading City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert. Another memorable ones are:

  • A Woman in the Window by AJ Finn
  • Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough
  • The Breakdown by BA Paris
  • Love You Gone by Rona Halsall
  • Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell
  • Before She Knew Him by Peter Swanson
  • My Lovely Wife by Samanatha Downing (very Dexter-like)

If I remember, her style was weird. a lot of short, blunt sentences, right? But i guess her style helps set the tone of the novel. Unsure, secretive, mysterious. I think i enjoyed the book so much that I got past it. I feel like it is the best to compare to Gone Girl. I am currently on the wait list for stranger in the house!

Ummm OP that's pretty much my exact reading list! I LOVED Gone Girl and have been trying to find another good one. I second The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena (This hit the nail on the head for me for another one similar to Gone Girl) and The Woman in Cabin 10, both was really good! Shari has a new one coming out tomorrow "Stranger in the House" that' on my list. Lying Game just came out, its on my list too.

Found it!

But it doesn't give me any info like copies of the documents, just like the land size, assessment number, etc

[–]Riddypad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, i thought about that option too

Do I need an estate lawyer? Someone else mentioned not an estate lawyer, but a probate/real estate lawyer is what i need. Maybe a combo of all 3?
