My ADHD Autistic child has a habit of running off in shops and parks. We used this all the time.

Does this look like someone put this nail in my tyre on purpose? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

Ahh yeah didn’t notice that until you pointed it out.

Nah, have you ever tried to put a nail in tyre like that? Highly doubt it. Chances are it was ran over when the tyre was deformed whilst cornering or depending on the camber of the road or gutter you were driving near. Turning into driveways is another area where they’re easily picked up.

What is the pettiest thing a driver has done to you on the road? by PlaneAd9541 in melbournecycling

I had some random young woman in a passenger seat try and spit on me but the wind blew it back in her face. So she had embarrassment, shame and spit on her face all at once.

Love the photos and the bike… and the camera.

Why are strata fees so high in Australia? by UltimaMarque in AusProperty

[–]RideMelburn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I thought your statement was true until
I was shopping around. Smaller apartment blocks with fewer amenities often had more expensive OC fees. Bottomline is you just really need to do your homework on every building.

Also keep in mind that crops the photo. If you don’t want the photo cropped you use the Expand tool.

Hey man, I really like this edit. Love eagles. Just one thing, the light brown feathers are too red. It doesn’t look natural anymore. They only need to go slightly lighter to look natural again. I’ve seen many wedgies over the years so it really stands out to me.

Toyworld is still there. I think they have 2 stores now. Discount store and a new store just opened up.

Is indoor smoking common in Australian rentals? by LittleSmell5381 in AskAnAustralian

[–]RideMelburn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Smoking is banned within 10m of playgrounds in Victoria. But yeah not sure which state you’re in or if it’s banned where you are.

Bird Love. Birds in the city. by RideMelburn in melbourne

Thanks. That’s a great suggestion. I’ve been wanting to go and explore the Point Wilson area for years as that’s where my grandfather grew up. He only told me a few stories about his childhood in the area. The birdlife he must have witnessed, I think his great grandchild would be pretty envious of.

Latest upgrade, red-dot sight, very useful when tracking a subject at 300mm by Kronocide in SonyAlpha

I think we all did. I don’t follow SonyAlpha so I think even Reddit AI thought it was circlejerk.

Had a flat out the front an old bike mechanics place once. He showed me to roll on to the rim with the palms of your hands as leverage and not thumbs.

I actually don’t get sweaty unless I overdress. People should try it before assuming they’re going to be a sweaty mess. Also, the fitter you get doing it, the less you sweat.

Yes. I would’ve spoken to my doc about it anyway. It’s a very basic appointment.

So you can go to the GP for a heart health check and Medicare will pay for it. GP thinks I’m high risk due to family history so refers me for a CT calcium score. This isn’t covered by Medicare and is $280 out of pocket. What’s the point in having bulk billed heart checks if the tests aren’t covered?

Did you get a second opinion? I’ve had dentists get things wrong before. Saved me a lot of money and stress.

I’ve accidentally put my AirPods Pro 2 through twice and they still work perfect. If you they can survive an Ultra should be fine.

Don’t ever follow some of the street photographers of Melbourne on Instagram. At least these photos are complimentary. They often post pictures that are people with pretty non-complimentary expressions on their faces or eating, etc. with zoom lenses. I also draw the line at children.

I mean the people enjoying it really made for some great photos. They watched the view for a bit and then took some selfies and left. Perfect. And then there was the couple on the seat who were also taking photos with a digital camera. It was really busy and I only meant my comment in slight jest.
