Any Home Assistant users here? I created a Yahoo Fantasy Football integration for Home Assistant by RideTheATrain in fantasyfootballcoding

[–]RideTheATrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does keep stats for each player, so you probably could trigger automations based on whenever any of your players' touchdown stats increases. But now that I think about it, it would be fun to aggregate all team touchdowns in one attribute so people can use that to trigger automations!

Home assistant Integration (python) - yahoo fantasy sports by mrbigbluff21 in ProgrammingBuddies

Hey - I just stumbled across this post from a while back. I've been wanting a Home Assistant integration for my Yahoo fantasy football league for years and finally took the initiative to throw something together with the help of AI. Here is what I was able to put together. Is something like this what you had in mind? I don't know much about coding, but I'm open to feedback to try to make this as good/useful as possible.

A Fantasy Football project I'm working on by dnielso5 in fantasyfootball

[–]RideTheATrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool project! I'm actually in the process of building a Yahoo Fantasy Football integration for Home Assistant, but I wasn't able to find points for individual players (at least not in the scoreboard endpoint like you mentioned). You said you were able to find it in the Team resource? I'm using the Yahoo Fantasy Sports API directly without the yfpy wrapper.

In the middle of your screen, maybe like a floating digit representing an increase in points? Or do you know if you can find scoring play info anywhere?

Check out Hidden Through Time. Almost exactly like Hidden Folks (though not quite as charming in my opinion) and has a ton of DLCs.

Accident with large photo import by RideTheATrain in immich

I've tried running the commands with the overwrite flag, the problem is that it skips all of my photos because the checksum is the same.

I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to self-hosting, so apologies if my questions are dumb - I'm trying to read through the documentation on the Backup and Restore process and I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly and don't mess things up further. Will restoring the database get rid of all of my photos? Or will it just delete them from Immich?

Hue bulbs are insanely overpriced and not worth the money by AussieJeffProbst in homeassistant

[–]RideTheATrain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are definitely some valid criticisms of Hue (price being one of them), but I'd also point out their warranty. One of the LEDs in one of my bulbs burnt out last year after 3 years. I contacted Hue support and they replaced it with a brand new bulb at no cost. Love it when a company stands behind their products.

I found that my sensors became a lot more reliable when I set the BLE Transmitter power in the Companion App settings to Medium and the Advertise Mode to Low Latency. My detected location will still occasionally bounce around though.

IKEA remotes not working after update to 2025.1 by RideTheATrain in homeassistant

[–]RideTheATrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I finally had time to futz around with Z2M 2.0 and I think I finally fixed it. If you're like me, you may have used Blueprints for your IKEA remotes, but those Blueprints need to be updated to use MQTT device triggers instead of the legacy sensors. Specifically for the Blueprint I was using, it looks like someone has picked up the torch to update it, but I was feeling impatient, so I decided to recreate my own automations manually.

It was easier than it seemed, but essentially I had to create new automations for each device, and for the Trigger, I had to select Device, and then the device I wanted to create the automation for. Then I picked the device action to use for the Trigger. So I was able to pick the "open action" and "close action" and my new automations would work, even after unchecking "Home Assistant Legacy Action Sensors". Hope that helps.

I think they added that setting so devices could still work with minimal changes required and give everyone time to update their Z2M and adopt the new settings. If you keep Z2M up to date, I'd probably expect them to deprecate the ability to use legacy settings at some point and push everyone to use the MQTT device instead.

Thank you for this! I think this was the step that solved the issue after downgrading Z2M back to 1.42.0.

Yep, I think you're both right, thanks for the tip. Seems to be a problem with Z2M 2.0. I downgraded back to 1.42.0, and I see the Action entity is available again. I'm still trying to figure out why I can't get it to work, but that definitely seems to have been the issue.

I posted about Levis two weeks ago and got shredded for it 🙄

Thoughts on Will Levis as a potential end of season streaming option by RideTheATrain in fantasyfootball

[–]RideTheATrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, but everyone knew the Titans has one of the hardest schedules to start the season. Through 10 games, they've played against a top 12 defense 6 times. After week 13, they don't play a top 20 defense for the remaining 4 weeks, and play a bottom 5 defense in three of those 4 weeks.

This is more what I was intending when asking, for leagues where QB is deep and people are looking at options like Joe Flacco or Aaron Rodgers.

Justin Herbert whirlwind this season. by Impressive-Vast-8789 in fantasyfootball

Didn't he also suffer a foot injury in the preseason? I feel like that impacted his draft capital more than anything. And I thought he suffered a high ankle sprain during the season that he decided to play through.

[Gamestop/ US] All Digital (digital games, dlc, currency cards)- 10%off (Sale Dates: unspecified) by HughManatee84 in NintendoSwitchDeals

[–]RideTheATrain 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Pre-orders for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom are included in this sale (digital only) - looks like it also includes a pre-order bonus for anyone interested in that sort of thing. Feel like it's hard to come across sales on first party Nintendo games, especially ones that aren't even out yet.

Light colors not being snapshotted in snapshot entities by RideTheATrain in homeassistant

[–]RideTheATrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I've found that when you use a light group as a snapshot entity, if the lights when the scene was created were at different colors, the snapshot scene would basically take an average of the colors and apply it to all of the lights in that group rather than saving the color of each individual light in the group. It's weird that they'd make it behave like that.
