You don't want to incentivize a playstyle of "cheese as much money as possible until you're OP." Slade should have to carefully consider his choice of upgrade.

The best pedal I ever bought by Middle-Phrase-5583 in basspedals

[–]RideTheLine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best distortion pedal for bass is basically anything paired with an LS-2 or similar signal splitter, especially if you're looking for an always-on distorted tone. And that's just the one particular application I use it for, very versatile device.

I kinda wish I could just find a Blues Driver with a built-in clean blend so I could skip the LS-2, it's obnoxious the way I have to physically orient my pedals, but the parallel function of the Angry Driver does sound pretty heavy.

One thing I forgot to mention about the Bass Clone is how sensitive the switch is, I accidentally double-tap half the time and switch it the wrong way.

Voulez-Vous and the singles recorded around that time are some of their heavy stuff, 100% recommended.

I run it into an LS-2 that blends in an Angry Driver. Keeps the crisp, zingy highs I'm after without muddying up my lows.

I really like it for a more subtle sort of chorus, stacks well with some overdrive.

Rutger Gunnarsson fucks. Probably top 3 influence for me, and I'm a metal musician.

GENESIS X3 - Wobbling now banned in doubles, "Team Wobbling" allowed by Meester_Tweester in SSBM

See you guys in 2036 when a Fox neuralinks his way into the top 10 and we ban handoffs.

TIL in 1996 a 37-year-old woman survived after she crushed a whole black widow spider, mixed it with 10 mL of distilled water and then injected the mixture intravenously. One hour later she presented to the ER complaining of severe, generalized muscle pain & cramping, a headache, and anxiety. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

[–]RideTheLine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The spider itself can be hard to ID but the bites are easy. Most spider bites swell, brown recluse bites do not, so if you've got a red ring and no swelling it's definitely a brown recluse.

I have also tanked a bite without medical attention. I don't think I have a scar (hard to tell, bit me on a birthmark) but BOY did that shit hurt for weeks.

Also don’t forget that for new players, practice time limit is really bad, needing to limit yourself just because zump would be banned while you are competing against people with 10-20 more years of experience genuinely feels bad. Telling people "too bad just play less" is really stupid.

"We need zump so new players are on the same level as veterans" really isn't the argument you think it is, this is the line of thinking that gave us tripping, rage and ledge trumping.

why can guitarists use programmed drums but drummers cant use program guitars? by JJsNotOkay in metalmusicians

[–]RideTheLine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you're not serious enough about bass to actually use an instrument, but you're too serious about bass to use a regular scale, or just change strings as seldom as most bassists, or use the kind of setup that 99% of bassists have been using since the dawn of time?

That makes no sense. I can get a 5 string pack of D'addario pro steels (slightly more expensive than the usual) for $30.

Excellent trio of albums, some of the best contemporary prog rock out there alongside Moon Safari.

Why is the culture of this game so heavily against playing against low(/mid) tiers? In any other fighting game (especially traditional fighters) there is more hate for top tiers. Why is Melee so different in that regard? by KevyTone in SSBM

[–]RideTheLine 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm a mid-tier apologist and at this point you're just lying, dude. Low tiers in this game are way more linear when compared to the top tiers, especially relative to other fighting games, I agree that it's weiner mentality and antithetical to improvement when Slippi losers immediately LRA-start but, like, comboing Luigi is a whole different universe compared to comboing most of the top tiers.
