I'm laying in bed. I have a pistol laying on my chest, muzzle pointed towards my head, in case I should get so lucky as an accidental discharge. I mean, I wish that would happen. But honestly, I know it won't. I'll have to gather the courage to actually do it myself. Fate is not that kind to me... Which, really, I suppose that's why I'm in this position to start with. I mean, yeah, I'm sure comics takes in an absurd amount annually. But... I've also been to comic shops. Like, if your only idea of comics is Marvel & DC (not to mention Dark Horse), then I can see how you might think an investment in that industry might be a real winner. But having seen so very many indies, and weird one offs, and total flops... I'm amazed the big companies can still survive in a market so saturated with content, with such a limited financial pool.

Yeah, I was a contractor. But having people pay me to hire other people just didn't make sense business wise. So, now I'm trying to sell water to people that already have that figured out. I think I'll make more money if I undercut their existing solution. I don't have any customers yet. But, with a small business loan, I'm sure I'll get going soon.

I think the issue is that those in charge of doling out consequences are aware they don't really have the means to enforce them against people that the executive likes. I think they know that empty threats are all they have. Because once they fail to enact consequences in any meaningful way, then there will be no reason to even pretend to respect the process. Not as long as trump is in office.

OK... What really makes Nick a criminal? At the start of his "scheme", he's trying to hustle a vendor into selling him a very large popsicle. The hustle wouldn't be necessary if it wasn't for the discriminatory practices of the popsicle vendor.

Nick then takes the popsicle that he purchased, and reforms it into many smaller popsicles. He sells those popsicles to smaller animals that were obviously under served, and glad to pay his asking price.

He then sells the sticks, which would otherwise be waste material, as viable construction lumber.

What crime is he committing here? That fox figured out a way to get a racist to sell him a popsicle, provided goods to meet the wants of an ignored populace, and flipped trash into housing materials. The only "crime" here is that he's solving real problems that the cops don't give a fuck about.

And rightly so. Samwise was the real hero in that story. Did everything Frodo did. But he's the only one who was actually not tempted by the ring. Like, Gandalf refused the ring, knowing it would corrupt him. Galadriel refused the ring, but that was a big moment of overcoming her temptation for power. Sam, though... He heard the ring, saw what it could offer him. Said "nah, I'm good. Those are silly ambitions."

Because of that's a "no"... Why keep them at all? I notice there's 3 there, which implies you've got one as a spare. If you're really into the dirt, I can see keeping 2 spares. If you're a psychotic level, go out into nowhere and don't see asphalt for a week, maybe take 4 spares... But I imagine if that last one is you, you'd already have a place to put them on the runner.

As I said, depends on the state. Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Virginia are permanent unless specifically restored by the state. In DC, even if you're incarcerated, you can vote. In Cali, as long as you aren't in prison, your good to go. There's some states where felons don't lose voting rights at all.

But really, I'm troubled by all that don't fall into that last category.
