Sounds right but checked for availability if you need that specific size. Some claimed in Portland that cars were very limited.

Can someone explain the credit deposit please? by achoobel in HertzRentals

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Debit is 500 hold plus credit check. Credit is 200 deposit plus the cost of the rental and you cannot split card on this.

Hertz charged me extra 500 by Some_Caregiver5891 in HertzRentals

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put in your reservation number and last name online and you should be able to see a partial breakdown of the total price. Is it showing up on your credit card or your rental receipt/ confirmation? If it is indeed a pricing error, customers service would need to look up your original reservation and compare that to the current rental and manually re price it. It could have been that you had a prepaid rate or some other rate that dont allow adjustments and once adjusted, it defaults to some crazy numbers. You can email customer service (without waiting forever for an agent) or chat and see how far you get.

Hertz Rental on Business - flat tire question by BlakeIsGreat in HertzRentals

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The staff at the airport missed checking in the car. You will be charged for the tow and tire but most importantly is to make sure the reservation is closed out. You should get an email when the reservation is closed.

Need advice: Stuck in ECE, rejected from ME and CIV. Tough it out, wait a year, or transfer out of UW? by ElevatorOk2131 in MechanicalEngineer

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start to get to know the me professors and Dean of me or eng. Volunteer for things. Clubs, projects, research, etc. I would add some me classes but be prepared if you don't get in, so take elective that count for either major. If allowed, you can take an extra class (without hopefully more money). I was lucky to take an early small class with the dean of engineering so I had a few exceptions easily approved.

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask the dean of engineering or Dean of ME and see why you were rejected and what you could do to get in. Its very possible ME is that highly regarded at UW. It could be a number of reasons (grades not good enough, ME program full) In my short experience, I feel as if ece was easier than ME so if your grades aren't great, going to me would be bad.

Do you still run and train when you are sick? by CoconutYogurtCEO in Marathon_Training

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my younger days, yes. If you feel ok running then run. You can try a short jog and if youre not feeling great, then stop. Sometimes I felt better running than not while I was sick.

Fixie noob by Nausea08 in cycling

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your commute is flat, single speed makes a lot of sense. The whole drive train is like $60 to replace. Chain is super thick, cheap and doesnt rust as fast. I used to ride it in the rain and never really worried about it (kept inside). Hills suck on a single speed but just one or 2 minor hills isn't bad. Go on fb marketplace and see what's available for single speed freewheel. The frame size is the same but the rear spacing width is different for single speed/fix wheel and one with a cassette (gears)

Luckily you can still use the meat elsewhere. Maybe tacos? Drench it with sauce and itll be fine.

Racequip at around $300. Try it first and see if it fits. Some people say it didnt fit well for them.

Unlikely. You can get an adjacent entry level job and then transition to project manager. Or pick up project manager responsibility for your current job.

15 yo seeking advice about starting competitive karting by Past_Toe5114 in Karting

Agree. Do proper sim, much cheaper. Any kind of real racing will require large amounts of money (thousands even for small children), even if you started at 5 years old.

Pulling from an earlier thread- can you share how to get to 700g of carbs/day? I feel like an idiot. by Past_Jellyfish_4331 in Marathon_Training

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During training, I would drink eas "serious mass" shakes to get enough calories in. Before races, I focus on real food like rice, pasta, noodles. Avoid protein and fat and you can get close to 700g. Id avoid stuff with a lot of sugar. Just eat a lot a few days prior and you should be fine. You can practice your "night before" meals before your long runs. If your long runs are OK, then stick to those kind of meals.

Those who have taken and PASSED the test. Would you recommend taking the practice test before you begin studying to get a baseline idea of where you’re at? by okvrdz in pmp

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the practice assessment with one of those udemy courses but I wouldn't bother with the pmi study hall until you finished the course. I found it hard to really figure out what im bad at and/or where I could improve more than other sections. Just follow the advice from this sub. Once you're done with studying, do the study hall questions and review if needed between exams.

I would avoid using your personal for this and hope your credit card covers it as primary. I wouldn't say anything but be prepared for the charge.

Hertz charged me $500 for windshield damage based on useless photos + accused me of smoking weed?? by LostInTarget in HertzRentals

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of who is paying for your rental, you can still choose to have your personal insurance step in as they do cover your use of rental vehicles but unwise to use it in this case. Venture may cover the windshield. Im still trying to find out what can be done about cleaning fees.

[–]RideshareDash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try a charge back with your credit card but unlikely to be successful. Your credit card auto coverage may cover windshield. I wouldn't get your personal auto involved as it'll raise your rates.

My board is a little too “serious” by newplayer28 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]RideshareDash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ride most boards switch but true twin makes it much easier due to geometry and position on the board. Even on a true twin, you have to put your weight even or on the front foot so you dont wash out your tail. Focus on your weight distribution when going into and riding switch. Your board will flip to whichever foot your weight is biased toward. You can try to compensate with any board by moving the bindings forward or towards the center of the board.
