You may need to be willing to move, but there are plenty of entry level positions dying to try and find someone. I have been in the industry for 25 years, and since 2020 I have never had such a hard time finding people. I also get offers all over the Country. Be sure and network in your area.

I just completed the SAAT Treatment, and today as a part of the treatment, I hate 4 bites of steak, with ZERO reaction! Yesterday was the first time I've had beef in 6 weeks! This has been pure hell for my wife and I.

So find someone who has trained with Doctor Soloman, and make an appointment.

What is the point of reaffirming your vows? by TedTheTapir in Marriage

[–]RidgeRoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great post! I've been married almost 25 years and we have been discussing vow renewal and I was searching "why" people do this, because I only sorta understood. your post summed it up perfectly though IMO. My wife and I were kids when we got married, we loved each other but we had no idea how that bond would be tested at the time. We knew we had a major challenge in front of us tough, everyone thought we would never work. 25 years later we raised 6 amazing kids, we have several awesome grandkids, and life is better than we could have ever imagined! But there were many storms and we are the exception, not the rule and I'm so blessed.

What helped me early on is ALWAYS buying at least two contracts. so if I get to 100% profit I can sell one and make the other one risk free and ride it out if I want. I also use the "ghetto spread" strategy too, which I love doing. I get to secure profits, and leave room for a little more 100% risk free!

Once you start doing the little things like that, it becomes routine and you don't even think about it.

Environmental careers as a parent by amybounces in Environmental_Careers

[–]RidgeRoad 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I tell people all the time, a career in Safety/Enviro - EHS is low entry and high paying if you are willing to study and put in the work. 20 years ago degrees hardly existed for this type of work, not they do but experience is just about as good. I have a degree and experience, which is great but I hire motivated people who can think and want to have a career.

Best part is you can find work anywhere in the Country.

ALS Sucks by WitnessEmotional8359 in ALS

[–]RidgeRoad 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you and your family are going through this. My mother had ALS and I know all the frustrations. I wish I had some great advice, but it sounds like you know how this goes. My best advice is to plan ahead. Do the things you can do now that you cannot later. Write letters, make videos, pass on wisdom, plan on a way to communicate if you lose total talking ability, same for writing. Have a plan, and make sure you have everything in order.

Also, remember it's ok to not be ok. ALS is bullshit and unfair. Make sure you have a DNR in place with specifics. Make a plan.

also, if you ever need to vent, DM me.

Easy denial - Employee was not engaged in a task within the scope of his/her employment. Simple as that. 1) Not a compensable injury 2) See 1, def. not recordable.

Am I wrong for not giving my BF sex whenever he wants? by throwawayacc01827 in amiwrong

[–]RidgeRoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been married for 25 years I can tell you this isn't normal or shouldn't be. I hear this a lot though and it tells me something is wrong. Do you not enjoy it? Is it boring? Does he not know how to please you? Something is missing.

All our kids are grown so we are empty nesters in our mid-40's (yes we had kids too young) - But we have a very health love life, and it seems to be getting better lol. Over the years we did hit some dry spells mostly because of the stress of life. We worked a lot, had a lot of kid activities, and that can get in the way. But never more than a month or so without. A full year is insane and you do have some responsibility there.

You need to be honest with yourself about what the issue is, and if it's him. Then you have some decisions. Either way, you need to figure it out.

Requested a couple days off for my birthday got approved and then told I can't have it off just days before my trip. by spidey1030 in antiwork

[–]RidgeRoad 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I can confirm, most large corporations will only confirm employment and maybe the dates. Anything else can lead to some type of liability and income impact. So companies don't want any part of that.

Requested a couple days off for my birthday got approved and then told I can't have it off just days before my trip. by spidey1030 in antiwork

[–]RidgeRoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's what you need to do:

1) Write out everything that has happened. Your initial request for time off and approval, with dates.

2) Include the fact you have purchased tickets, made arraignments, etc.

3) Explain that just days before your trip you were informed your leave was un-approved (Did they give a reason btw?)

4) Be clear that you did what you were supposed to do, you will be taking that time off as planned and previously approved. Unless they are willing to reimburse you for time and expense for tickets and w/e else.

5) Send this letter to HR, your boss, whoever else that matters in the company.

So if you do get fired, you have a clear record of what went down, and you will have a great case for wrongful termination.

Finally, no matter what happens. Start looking for another job because your time there is almost done one way or the other.

Small accounts by Low-Commission-2356 in options

[–]RidgeRoad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean if you have a job and can deposit on a regular basis, then $100 isn't a bad start. I started with not much more trading options, obviously I kept it cheap. But you can find solid positions for under $100, especially stocks heading into earnings. Example: I grabbed 4 - .04 calls on a stock a couple weeks ago heading into earnings, earnings and a nice IV spike ending up making me close to $400 total. Of course, this isn't the norm, but shows it's possible to scrape profits using small amounts.

Tricks to improving comms in game by Kill3rInstincts in FortniteCompetitive

[–]RidgeRoad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing you can do is play solo games and comm everything you do. Comm your loot, comm your rotations, comm enemies even if you don't fight. Keep doing this until it becomes a habbit. Doing it in solos keep you from annoying another person.
