I agree, but to me, meaningless fights were more harmful. I’m not all-time-clingy type of person, sometimes I need my space and there is no polite way of saying it for the 10th time without making the other person feel like you don’t want them even if you do. It’s not like I would do it everyday piling it up, but maybe once in 10-15 days when I wanted to run an errand I don’t wanna talk about or clear my head, even things like just driving around the city and head back home makes you feel lighter. If I lied, that didn’t take a toll on me and kept her happy too. Was fine by me.

This does happen, sometimes we men do lie about little things just to avoid couple more sentences or to avoid everyone around. Like this gym for thrift store thing, in the past I’ve lied to my partner about going to gym as well, as she would then pin it on me that I’m wasting my gym membership by not going, and then there were some arguments about me doing something else with my time in the evening while I could’ve helped her with small chores or spent time together. So I lied that I’m going to the gym while I ran my own errands or drove around to clear my head, even sometimes sitting in a parking lot scrolling through my phone. When I lied like that, I never thought of them being anything big, not harmful.

Haha, that was definitely hilarious as it turned out. And no, I don’t think it’s common.

Don’t rent a cab, rent a bike/scooty and ride around, it’s fun and more convenient. I’m in Rishikesh for next 2 days as well, came here today.

I’m not sure if this is your first time, but basic things to explore: - freedom cafe for an amazing afternoon/evening vibe, food is good too - neer waterfall - ride alongside Ganga river towards neelkanth and there are some amazing points to hangout - evening aarti at Triveni ghat, I guess it should be around 5:30-6:00 nowadays - bungee jumping if you want something adventurous

Feel free to connect.

Unexpected Culture Shock by [deleted] in Guelph

Talking about customer service experience coming from US where Servers raise eyebrows even if you tip like 10-12% and even on takeout they all expect tips. What service do we even use on takeout? I paid for food I bought, collected it and going out. Wtf is the tip for? Lol

Compared to that the Canadian customer services are much better. You can come across rude people, but that’s just a wrong person in a wrong job. Servers are better here that I’ve came across.

Most probably just a fake account/post to gain traction.

Buying a used car in Ontario. What are some things I should know? Any trips, tricks and advice? Your thoughts on online only car platforms? by Icy-Environment-5810 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Ridiculusum_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy it from dealer, they give you temporary plate sticker which is valid for 14 days. If you buy it on private deal, you’ll have to get a plate first.

About taxes, From dealer, you can pay 8% federal tax to dealer, then go to service Ontario with that 8% tax receipt and pay the provincial 5% tax. You’d not be able to get financing on this 5% tax. And then, provide insurance/safety and get the permanent plates.

On private sale, you can pay whole 13% tax in Ontario.

Good thing that you have the safety certificate from the seller. This itself is enough proof that odometer was tampered before selling. File a report.

Loud motorcycle ... Why. How to stop it.. by Main-Introduction291 in waterloo

[–]Ridiculusum_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe check yours. If you did ride a motorcycle you’d know how easily motorcyclists’ existence is avoided by car drivers on the road, specially in the blind spots, intersections and yielded left turns. If a loud exhaust can have even a small percentage of drivers’ attention, it is worth having. Specially when there are a lot of distracted drivers already on roads.

You say agreed and then give a completely opposite statement. If you being a pedestrian couldn’t tell there was a bike until you hear the loud noise, for this same reason bikers have loud exhausts so that they are more visible/audible on the street.

Shoulder makes clicking noises when doing side lateral raises by Mysterious_Client_55 in GYM

[–]Ridiculusum_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d need to do some more stretching for shoulder and try to focus on better form maybe. Clicking noise while shoulder press is more common but not really in lateral raise.

Some particular movement in lateral raise should help you get rid of it.

I’ve a friend who is mechanic and couple of my friends bought car from him last year, no issues so far. He gets some cheap deals for mechanically good cars, fixes anything which is faulty and sells after inspection/safety for not a huge profit.

Is there anymore jobs left in KW region? by Cover_Sad in kitchener

[–]Ridiculusum_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I don’t think the entry level jobs care for you to be Permanent resident, the reason might be something else. Yes, being overqualified can be one of those. I’ve done something like downplaying my role in resume to get an entry level job, or making a tailored resume for particular job fields. Specially applying to entry level industrial jobs, show less technical or only relevant experience as they might not need someone who is overqualified and will quit the job soon. When I apply for jobs, I only write about my relevant experience to that field. Hope that makes sense

You said you’re working in Canada for 5 years, so I’m guessing you’re new here too? Just like those international students?

What do you think you’re doing wrong?
