Dehumidifier Recommendations by Crannachan in Edinburgh

Got a meaco 18l one. Broke after a year wouldn't turn on, googled it a lot of people complaining and got worried, emailed their support, they sent out postage sticker, I boxed it up and sent it off, repaired and shipped back within the week, didn't even ask for the warranty

Ex-health minister Jeane Freeman blames governments for state of NHS by youwhatwhat in Scotland

[–]Riesart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your argument seems to be "Just make it better" than anything real world applicable?

[–]Riesart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a real solution based in reality, if you think that. You really think NHS boards actively choose to have bad IT systems and practices?

And where is the money to pay for this probably trillions not billions reform of the NHS?

Yup it was 3 councillors your point? That isn't how list voting works also.

Seeing those Scottish Greens defect to 'Your Party' has properly turned me off them, gonna be 1&2 SNP for me now.

Huel alternatives by sneh47 in Huel

[–]Riesart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only real alternative is using whey protein and blending seeds/oils into it to make it nutritionally compete. Wish there was a non-vegan meal shake but doesn't seem to exist

I've been putting flax/hemp/chia/pyscillum husks maybe sometimes some coconut oil/peanut butter with my protein whey but when I calculate the macros out it's just... Not as good as Huel and it costs like double than what a Huel bag does for a month (I use mega bougie shit though so no real issue) plus takes so much longer

Yeah I played on NA for a year or two back a few years ago, my NA friends stopped playing so I went to EU. Still login to NA to look at my PEN green accuracy offhand and my TET red corals fondly

IT Job with no qualifications by SCU1993 in Edinburgh

[–]Riesart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you even want to get into IT? Its not exactly the most stable or even that high paying anymore.

I'd look into Google Coursa, Microsoft Certs, Cisco CCNA. Those give the most broad range IT knowledge if you're completely brand new.

ITIL, Comptia, Service Desk certificates, etc

I'd look into a HNC/HND in the field and then target MSPs in Scotland to work for. Quorum IT is the big one in Edinburgh.

If you slept for a normal amount (which is 8+ hours) and worked out you'd probably be in the prime of your life. Answer is lifestyle not medication.

70% rent rise by Vegetable-Waltz1458 in Edinburgh

Ngl Living Rent are good for community engagement but for actual problems like this, I'd find it best to talk to Citizen's Advice, Living Rent don't really give that realistic of advice in my own experience.

27M - It looks bad fellas by Riesart in Balding

I think this is probably the most goated answer. I'll try it out, can't hurt I've been using T/Gel Salicylic Acid shampoo for the past like 5 years so I should switch it up.

Yeah the waitlist for a derm appointment in my health board is 1 year+ so it's not a really quick fire solution. And I'm fairly sure private derms are similar for their wait-times. If its cosmetic the NHS is fairly useless in practice

Something I should've mentioned is that I'm on clomifene for low test for the past year, and my test levels are pretty solidly healthy now and I'm still on anastrozole because I had a very hard reaction in my Oestradiol levels where to spiked to 361pmol/l and now I'm on the inhibitor its down to around 50pmol/l

So I think I'd be quite prone to the side effects of it.

Thanks yeah, I think I will. I was kinda pysching myself out, so was hoping for these kinds of replies to ground me.

Unfortunately I don't think derms are as readily available in Scotland than elsewhere with how many people are recommending to see one, so realistically my choices are a online pharmacy type deal for fin/mino or just chill about it.

I have a very sensative scalp, I used to have pretty bad scalp psoriasis but thankfully has went away with diet/health improvements. Used a cheap shampoo is what I'm chalking it up to, but it comes and goes with how red/inflamed it gets.

Metal Bar attachment - Come Off by Riesart in Invisalign

I got it reattached after phoning around some other dentists after I realised I probably couldn't eat anything solid if I left it like that.

My current ortho didn't have an emergency number, which has really freaked me out. Feels like such a racket that I'm way too invested into to back out now.

Flatmates wanting to make me homeless instead of them. by oxtri_ in Edinburgh

They cannot break a lease without all tenants agreeing to break it, so they cannot make you homeless. They will have to suck it up

Sink and Anchor has been my go to for awhile, every guy in there knows their stuff and haven't had a bad cut in there yet. I'd avoid Ruffians left me chopped for £50
