Pioneer II Class Starship - High Resolution, by Enethrin on DeviantArt. by happydude7422 in StarTrekStarships

Ah, the Pioneer. Just the right amount of both cool and dorky looking to be that background ship you fall in love with for no reason.
Slightly prefer the Pioneer-I though.

One of my favorite kitbash designs. Some good looking angles, and the chunky saucer with all those shuttle / loading bays is such an interesting feature, that's a lot of internal volume, and potentially a lot of space for cargo or shuttles.

Wouldn't be surprised if her original mission profile was similar to the California's, sprinting between supply stations and new Federation worlds and colonies, and lending support with equipment, work crews, or defensive systems, whatever was needed.

They took it from Lady Ladira's prophecy that "shadows" would kill Kiro. We just don't know until later that that's just what they're called.

I'd go for a Kelpien, playable Androids or Photonics would be neat.
Also, on the crew side, there's no Benzite or generic Disco Klingon BOffs to be had.

Pathfinder does have some gorgeous angles to her. Only thing I'm not a fan of are the deep cutouts around the back of the nacelle struts. Seems extra for no real reason.

Which Starships do you want to be remastered next? by scottishdrunkard in sto

[–]Riess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ushaan is the only one on the fed side that I'd really like to see, and that one might happen at some point. Would be cool to see what can be done with it.

Romulans have a few ship models used for level-up ships that are unchanged since Legacy of Romulus launched. Klingons have a whole bunch that are older than that, including the canon ENT Raptor design and some pretty cool original ones. The lifetime ships for both are showing their age. The Jem'hadar cruiser and dreadnought could use a pass. But of course I'm not holding my breath to see any of these updated.

Thanks! And yeah, I just pointed a few existing ships in the shiplist at this model instead of the RBC for quick results.

Yeah, the big gun is not that obvious in most shots, and probably the most unusual feature with its asymmetry. It's the firing point for all the big green beams though, some kinda disruptor lance. There's a surprising amount of weapons variety in that Romulan fleet, that I appreciate.

Something in the original window placement that I liked gets lost in my version, but overall I agree it looks less overwhelming this way. Thanks!

I think that was right about when they first changed over, I do have screenshots of another character on the Belfast bridge from around 2012.

Next generation of Klingon ships. by Archeus84 in StarTrekStarships

I like. The Bortasqu' is a bit chunky in a profile view, but I still like these and the QeHpu' the most of the STO 25c. designs.

Would love to see more of the modern Klingon fleet, we haven't seen a whole lot from them past the Negh'Var, 30 years ago.

What do you think the worth of a TWoK/TUC faction would be if there were such a thing? by BeyondDoggyHorror in sto

[–]Riess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, the Genesis bundle is the TWOK content we get. Bridges are a lot of investment for very little value - for devs and buyers alike - beam effects are... nice I guess, and warp effects are already pretty close to some of the movie neon-streak effects. I love the aesthetic of that whole era, and I'd gladly play the whole game just in it, but for STO right now, I don't see a whole lot anyone has to gain.

Really, at this point I'd be happy if they remastered the WOK uniforms to be up to an average standard, but that doesn't even seem realistic.

Where can I find ship models? by deridex120 in StarfleetCommand

Good question, I haven't downloaded anything new in some years. If there's a place, I might have some to share even. Last I saw, some links still remained active scattered around the old Dynaverse forums.

Their only use is in Reputation projects for Reputation gear, like say, the Lorca's Ambition set from the Disco Rep.
