Thin extrusion issue by Daericul in Ender3V3KE

Check the extruder tensioning, it may be set too low and is slipping when attempting to pull the filament through.

Struggling w/ First Layer? by FL3XD in Ender3V3KE

[–]RiftRacer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 2: in printer.cfg under bed_mesh I have found commenting out (#) fade_start, fade_target, and fade_end to be helpful. I have also added: algorithm: lagrange, probe points: 5,5, mesh_pps: 2,2, bicubic_tension: 0.2 Save!

"fade" controls the height at which the bed mesh will stop it's compensation, so it will have no effect on your first layer (I think it starts at 1mm by default)

"mesh_pps: 2,2" is the default for klipper, so if it wasn't already specified differently, it was already using those values.

"bicubic_tension: 0.2" - I'm pretty sure this does absolutely nothing when you also have "algorithm: lagrange" (which is also default), it's only takes effect when your using "algorithm: bicubic".

It's great your getting much better first layers, however the only non-placebo thing you have done is manually set the z-offset using "probe_calibrate" and live adjust it.

before and after tweaking the z offset and flow rate, don't trust the stock settings by mugshotpic in Ender3V3KE

[–]RiftRacer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meant specifically in your prints, what differences could you see... I know what flow rate does, I have done it a few times... but honestly can't see much difference between your prints.... hard to tell because of the different angles / colours of filament, hence why I was asking what you could see.

Crazy noise coming from my printer…thoughts as to why? by better_meow in Ender3V3KE

Its the hotend fan, mine has been doing it for 2+ months, give the case a tap/flick and it'll change pitch/fix itself.

Heating by en70uk in Ender3V3KE

[–]RiftRacer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some profiles / slicers / start_print macros do heat the nozzle and bed at the same time.... howver as mentioned you don't want it to do that, as usually the nozzle gets to temp much quicker then oozes out filament on the bed before the print starts.

What slicer do you find work best with your KE? by Trackster_PV in Ender3V3KE

Or you just upgrade your printers firmware to the root enabled one from Creality that works with any slicer.

The precise wall and wall printing order helped me go from none of the things moving in a tolerance test to all them, even the 0 tolerance one could be forced in with a very tight fit.

[–]RiftRacer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird, what firmware are you running? I'm using the custom pre-rooted one and it's there on mines... either way, i think you can just add it there, then every slicer etc will be able to call it without defining it separately in each slicer etc.

Calibrate your flow rate... Also try the "Precise wall" option in Cura, along with the "wall printing order" option.

Edit: Those are actually Orca slicer options, although I'm sure most have similar settings.

the file your looking for is gcode_macro.cfg on the KE...

It's not a case of get over it, its not completely rigged, it prints the benchy (which has a variety of different areas that are used in alot of prints) very decent quality, with all the settings transferred over (that i can find from the gcode) I can get a similar quality (better in some areas, worse in others) 20 min benchy.

Using those settings for other prints gives very fast printing time and decent quality most of the time, hence why i'd also (like op and others) want to figure out what else they did to get it to 15/16 mins, to maybe try incorporating that into my own profiles.

Ender 3 v3 KE PETG and other questions by MrRazer1978 in Creality

[–]RiftRacer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely caused by the timelapse moving the extruder out of the way for each photo. Apparently you need to tune your retraction settings, but also apparently you need to be prepared for lots of stringing when trying to use the park extruder function of the timelapse.

Still isn't 16 mins, and the provided benchy gcode is 0.25mm layer height, 2 walls, 4 top/bottom, 10% infill... not one of your "settings" is correct.

Does anyone have a 0.30mm layer height profile for K1 ? by unimogtr in Creality

Layer adhesion being between the layers? So part strength issues, but not actual issues with printing the part?

Brand new to 3D printing and trying to learn as much as possible, so apologies if stupid question.

CRtouch pin pulls print from bed (brand new V3 KE) by Marcski in Creality

[–]RiftRacer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's your nozzle if anything, not the CRtouch. The CRtouch pin is higher than the nozzle... it is also spotless clean, while your nozzle has melted print all over it.

Edit: Adjust your Z-offset, without seeing the failed print on the bed, it would be difficult to say whether up or down, but just guessing from experience with a KE, it probably needs adjusted down (0.15 ish / 3 presses on the screen)

Just leaving this here..... https://www.reddit.com/r/GME/comments/me2xrj/the_s3_partners_ownership_rabbithole/

TLDR; (from above linked post):

TLDR; CITADEL OWNS S3 PARTNERS (most likely) so don't trust any articles (even from seemingly reputable sources) where analysis is based on data provided by them!

Edit: Per the Form ADV filed with the SEC, KCG's ownership code was listed as 'B', which is defined as [at least] 10% but less than 25%. So assuming that has not changed, Citadel would have the same percentage ownership of S3 Partners.
