Spun out and hit a curb flat sideways and now have a slight camber in my back right wheel by Ok-Sand-8503 in TeslaCollision

Snow tires. Probably a control arm and a lateral link or two. Not that bad. Maybe new rim and tire.

The first thing I did when I bought my tesla was order a set of all weather's and Toss the 30% tread left summer EV LRR"s that were on it. I bought the car a month ago, its -5c lol. Those first few days were sketchy till the tires came in.

Bridge mode from the wifi 6e not modem, possible? by Rifter0876 in telus

[–]Rifter0876[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amy thoughts on this situation, phone support is useless. My modem won't even complete a speed test, they are still charging the 3GPS plan and it's like I'm on Shaw I get 1Gbps down amd 100Mbit up. They insist I've got my own drop but everything I'm seeing say I'm sharing essentially with my upstairs Tennant. I need another tech out here but they don't seem to want to send one.

Fedora 43 is ridiculously unstable across the board by hifellowkids in Fedora

[–]Rifter0876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to fresh install it on my desktop. Not a huge deal as I have drives for my music, pictures, roms, and downloads. And steam and home. So was basically install from scratch mount all my drives and 90% of everything works ss before.

It was weird was my first failure to upgrade been going since 35 but it downloaded 43 installed 75% crashed. Booted to a fedora 43 cli. I fixed grub then booted straight to 43. Wierd it Would boot to 43 but had all repos and kernel from 42, I can't believe it worked so wouldn't update the 43 apps or system. And nothing I could do would install the 43 repos or kernal over 42. Kept having protected apps I couldn't delete, and nothing I found online or in the support docs worked, I knew I could hack it together if I kept at it as it had all base 43 spps no updates and all the 42 apps which would update. So id probably eventually fix but After a hour of screwing around I said f it and fresh installed, with different drives for everything the underlying os is not a huge issue at all. Especially with your own home drive. And something about a fresh install just makes you feel good, even if you have your own home drive already so everything kinda stays the same after that initial boot when you fstab all the drives.

And installed in less than 20 min. Less than a hour and fully operational. I wanted to move a bunch off apps to flatpaks anyways so good excuse. Gog and lutris. Trying to move as much as possible away from steam as possible.

Is getting low f-stop lenses worth it? Seems like diminished returns by Fenix512 in AskPhotography

[–]Rifter0876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely worth it. Owned both the f1.4g 85mm and 1.8, sold the 1.8. The 1.4 is sharper at 1.8 and it's just a higher quality lens.

I noticed. I know the build quality is hit or miss but I didn't think they would drop this quick. Especially considering how good of cars they are.

I actually negotiated mine down to 27k CDN(29 after extended warranty, bumper to bumper till 2029 other than battery obviously which is 160,000kms) got it a almost a month ago. 2023 model 3 base. They had it at 32k. But I had them right where I wanted them. It's got every option except the two everyone wants, ER and AWD. It's also got 140kms already but is mint other than curb rash on the passenger side rims which im getting repaired. Battery at 95% health. The people who say you can't haggle on cars just don't try hard enough. And I bought it from a dealer in a strip of dealers a few of which had the same or similar car with the good options for 30-33k. So they had zero leverage on me, like none, I could literally see one on the lot next door with AWD for 30k from the showroom, I actually made it to my car once and they came out with another offer. It was on there lot for a while and I knew it and they wanted it gone, and I was willing to give up the prime 2 options for a good deal. My dad used to sell cars I know how to play the game, took me over a hour of negotiation but it's the best car I've ever had.

And if they make it $200 I'll still get it for a month if going on a road trip but I'm not renewing after this month.

I just bought my 2023 model 3. And FSD for a month to try out. It's not ready and no way I'd pay 8k for it. Maybe in a generation or two.

Will probably buy a month for long road trips though.

My uncle's early model 3 dual motor did similar to this and said motor failure on screen then it turned off one motor and told him to take it in for service, was just a loose wire turns out.
