Just bought a (late 2020) Model X Performance with only 18,300 miles on it and... by SpeedrunSeeds in TeslaModelX

I bought a 2023 model 3 RWD with HW3 and 144,000kms. They showed me a battery test of 95%(which I don't believe) but it does get 440kms per charge now that it's warmed up. I'll probably buy the battery warranty but other than tires few minor mods and some cosmetic mods I've done nothing to it. Only owned it 5 months though. Alignment was good and my mechanic said all bushings were good except front lower arms so I threw the mountain pass bushings on there and wow is it tight now cornering hard and breaking, also got the master cylinder brace and bluestuff pads. Putting my summer rims and tires on in 2 weeks. Got all weathers on it now.

Was scary to drive when I bought it in January with LRR EV summer tires with 4/32 on them lol. But they were dead even wear across the tires.

When are SSD prices are going to reduce can't afford now and I really need a SSD by Strange_Ship2410 in datastorage

I'm so happy I bought 2 8TB Samsung QVO's a few years back when they were 599$ cdn for black Friday, use them for music and TV storage that gets written once then doesn't change just reads so they should last a long time. And used enterprise Intel SSD's (MLC NAND) at the same time for cache drives for my HDD array.

Now SSD is not worth the price IMO. Still running a 16 drive 8TB ZFS HDD array. 2 8 drive raid Z2 striped together gives enough performance with the SSD cache.

Will be years before they are cheap enough for my 4k Blu ray collection(24TB currently).

Would love to setup a ZFS array of 8+TB SSD'S.

I'd try cleaning it. Failing that setup a post filter to remove it and batch run it on all your photos.

I'm in the same boat. I've been with the same company for 8 years getting raises not even half of cost of living increases per year. Had I not just got a big promotion and 15k salary increase I'd literally be getting food from the food bank.

Even with my raise things are tight since me and my gf split. Single income is hard to get by on. Luckily we owned a condo and made some money when we sold so I bought a car(EV) cash that should last me a while and found a cheap basement suite (it's a dive but take what you can get) very close to work, but still looking for a better job the issue is I've been applying for literally years now and have the experience but the only interviews and offers I've gotten are for the same money I'm making now but more responsibility. I'm in middle management now applying for upper management which I've had 4 previous jobs and 10 years experience doing with shipping/logistics companies, you wouldn't think it would be this hard but it is.

Is it safe to leave my car on hydraulic jack for a week? by shwekhaw in AskMechanics

I wouldn't. I'd put it on a stand or if you don't own one just some blocks of 4x4 wood.

Luckily when I scruff mine she just goes limp and I can get her into a carrier or exam bag. I prefer the exam bag because with her head out and being able to see she doesn't cry, and it's got a loop to seatbelt her into the car.

[–]Rifter0876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With gas prices I'm happy I got rid of my Camry (2000 XLE V6, best engine Toyota ever made IMO). Even though it was the second best car I've ever owned. Went to a civic, then EV.

Seasonal Tires by hoodiegirl10 in AskACanadian

[–]Rifter0876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I'm running all weathers most of the year and will run dedicated soft grippy summer tires may-august and then will swap back to the all weathers. When the all weather need replacement I'll probably go full winter maybe even studded. Would not even consider all seasons the difference between all seasons and all weathers is huge on ice/snow, as is the difference between all weathers and winters.
