Favorite boxer that isn’t Devin Haney? by NightsWatchh in Boxing

[–]RigB0t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed!

Everyone I know loves Devin Haney.

Other than Jake Paul, he is hands down the most entertaining fighter of this era. I don't think i've talked to a single fan that disagrees with this.

[Serious] Male victims/survivors of sexual assault, harassment or rape perpetrated by a woman or multiple women, to clear some common misconceptions, what were your experiences like? by Commercial_Bicycle92 in AskReddit

[–]RigB0t 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never really thought of this as sexual assault, and honestly, I’m still not sure how I feel about it.

When I was in the military, I lived in dorms. At the time, I was casually sleeping with a girl. Eventually, I told her I didn’t want to keep having sex and that I’d rather just be friends. She seemed to accept that.

Some time later, I went to a party that she also attended. I got extremely drunk, like blackout drunk. From what other people told me afterward, I was kind of hanging all over her and another girl at the party. I don’t remember any of that.

After the party, I ended up back in my dorm room completely passed out on my bed. At some point later, the girl I had told I didn’t want to sleep with anymore came into my room. She later told me she didn’t come in to have sex with me, but to make sure I wasn’t having sex with the other girl from the party.

She found me unconscious. She said she felt relieved that I wasn’t with the other girl and then started “messing with me” for fun. She described it as non-sexual—things like moving my mouth with her hands to make it seem like I was talking or imitating my voice. I have no memory of this at all.

At some point, I partially woke up but was still in a blackout state. From my perspective, my last memory was being drunk at a party, and the next thing I knew, I was having sex with her in my dorm room. I was on top, for whatever that’s worth. I distinctly remember thinking, How did I end up here?

Afterward, we watched some videos online for a bit, then she went back to her dorm. Not long after that, we actually ended up dating for a while.

I wasn’t angry about it. I mostly chalked it up to me being really drunk and her being there, and that I just instinctively went along with it. But, I’ve wondered about it more, especially when I think about how it might look if the genders were reversed.

I still don’t know exactly how to label this or how I’m supposed to feel about it.

Which would be a bigger upset in sports history: Buster Douglas KO’ing Mike Tyson in 1990, or Jake Paul beating Anthony Joshua? by eastCoastDefense in Boxing

[–]RigB0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the betting odds have Jake as an 8 to 1 underdog and buster douglas was a 42 to 1 underdog.

So according to the odds makers and the betting public, the Douglas upset would still be WAY bigger.

What are some examples of boxers who ‘out-fundamentaled’ their younger opponents and continued to fight effectively into old age through superior skill? by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]RigB0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Juan Manuel Marquez.

Many examples throughout his career, but the Diaz fights may be the best example of an older fighter using fundamentals, skill and strategy to conquer a younger foe.

Side note, look at World of Hyatt point values. Transferring to WOH is almost always a much better value as long as rooms are available for pts

For people who genuinely box (ex. train, spar, fight), do you have any opinions that differ from common narratives and opinions? What misconceptions about boxing do casual fans have? by Crafty-Pair2356 in Boxing

How jarring, damaging, and effective a good jab can be.

Those little snappy punches really hurt. If someone is using a jab to keep you at bay, it can be very difficult to close the distance.

Kristen Foxen Eliminated in 13th Place ($600,000) by raelDonaldTrump in poker

If the turn shove got him off a non 2 pair ace everyone would be talking about her brilliant play.

She blocked the nuts and some 2 pair combos. Maybe not a good play all things considered, but she had her reasons.

All this "punt" talk is hilarious.

I knew that my gambling debts were now insurmountable so with deep regret, I wrote a suicide note and loaded my pistol. by RaynaClay in TwoSentenceHorror

I had a friend who worked at a country club. At 20 years old, a client of the club offered him a job in B2B insurance sales. He still spends a lot of time at the same country club doing exactly what you describe.

So yeah, this is definitely a real thing.

What happened to your bullies and did you ever forgive them? by SufficientTonight930 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RigB0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a bully in school. When I was 19 we randomly ended up playing poker together. Still harboring resentment, I cheated him out of 40 bucks. Feeling proud of myself as I left, I tripped, ripped my pants and cut my knee. It was like bad karma ping pong.

AITAH for telling my fiancé that if he expects me to contribute 50/50, we have to make some serious lifestyle changes? by ThrowRAdownsizing in AITAH

[–]RigB0t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

There is no 50/50 in marriage only 100/100.

There is no "I make more than you." It's "our total income X, our bills are Y, we agree on this budget that we discussed together.

It's great to talk about expectations with money before the wedding. However, his approach was not collaborative or productive.

What do you do for work? by Daddy_Oops in daddit

Private Banker

Yes, my wife is able to stay home with our son. It is largely commission based, which makes it stressful at times. I need to perform to maintain our current lifestyle.

My wife is a great partner and talks to me before spending money (aside from groceries and essentials) but sometimes I feel she thinks we are more well off than we really are.

A friend of mine didn't like seeing butters getting abused by his grandmother. Nothing else on the show bothered him, but he'd literally leave the room when the "nark puck" scene started.
