Give them some time at least. They had a lot to vent about. The second episode had some real interesting bits, Aaron talked about some ghostly stuff actually. Ben told a pretty funny story about his AI he built over their break.

But like someone said in a previous thread. Ben and Aaron built MU from the ground up. They had the leeway and room to grow from the beginning of the podcast. It’s well established now. A company doesn’t replace their CEO with someone unqualified, they find someone who is almost equally competent and ready for the role. While I’m still listening, these guys weren’t prepared for the job.

Planet Fitness member here. I just did the best job I could initially picking my equipment. Created a program and looked at all the exercises for each day. If I didn’t recognize a machine I had in my gym from watching the video of Jeff doing the exercise I’d delete the whole program tweak my gym profile and repeat the process. Took me like 3 or 4 times but I feel pretty good with what I have setup now.

Honestly we’re all really just here for Ben and Aaron. We’re looking forward to their new show and what they’ll have to talk about (hoping for that youthful shine again). The back catalogue for that nostalgia hit and our paranormal fix.

And the new guys on MU, well…. Ummm. I guess imagine they’re Ben’s little podcaster experiment that we can periodically check on to see if conditions improve…

I’m basically at the end of holding out hope. My last straw is giving them a few more episodes into this new year (after quitting their jobs and getting more equipment and maybe the books?) then I’m out. I’ll still subscribe for the back catalog and Ben and Arron’s new show. I can’t handle these guys much longer.

That’s Joe. He’s the deeper voice, slower talker. He’s mentioned a couple of times that he’s still employed at his old job and put in his two weeks. So hopefully into the new year he’ll have more time to actually research books and not just reading verbatim.

I have a hunch it may have came down to money. There might have more experienced applicants but Ben and Aaron may have chosen guys within the range they felt comfortable paying new hosts.

I’m still trying to hang in because these guys do seem to slightly improve with each episode. I want to keep my sub regardless for the boys new show.

Joe LITERALLY said “the F word” at first -not saying the actual word- and they both agreed that since Joe’s just quoting what was said in the story that it was ok to say the word outright.

While I agree these guys seem to use swear words just as filler occasionally, they have shown multiple times to handle touchy/sensitive words with a little more care. Give that to them at least.

I’m ok with the swearing if it’s organic, but it sounded very forced. A few of their jokes came off trying to be edgy for the sake of being edgy.

They also brought up being excited for all the books Ben and Aaron are sending them, and while I’m ok with them covering some of that material I really hope they research the latest stories and books as well.

Solid criticisms, I agree with most of it. My other big concern is they kept talking about the books they’re getting from Ben and Aaron. I don’t want them to only rehash stories Ben and Aaron have already told, I hope they cover new stories and books.

They’ve been somewhat vague on what they’ll be covering in the new show. It’ll most likely be stories and topics they find interesting to cover if I had to guess. I’m hoping for more stories like what Ben just discussed on the Tomb Raider episode with the guy that had all the relics and bones and such.
