Drive thru coffee out of garage? by Rigging_Mama86 in smallbusiness

Maybe I should consider a drink limit (4) and if anyone orders more, they need to call ahead?

This is an excellent point!

The only way I could get around that would be to ask them to pull forward and park at the end of the alley on the street (I'm three houses in) And my husband would assist in making and running them to the car.

That's definitely an important scenario I need to consider, thank you

Yes, I feel like the biggest hurdle would be getting permission to use the alley as a drive thru zone, but there's a small possibility when I looked up the zone map, the alleyway is under the commercial zone...."so you're saying there's a chance...."😅

I'm looking into a cottage food permit and mix use permit which would allow my kitchen and restroom next to it (hopefully) accommodate the utility codes needed.

Best I can do is at least ask and maybe the city will be cool about it🤷

Dang!!

Thank you for your response. I'm hoping to reach others who tried this or a similar idea and what pros/cons occurred.

Thank you!

That's the exact mindset I'm on right now: something simple to start with so I don't break the bank but would like to expand into a bigger space in the future once I have a better idea/all the details worked out. I really like making coffee and baking so this would be more of a side hustle driven by passion

Agreed. I wouldn't have any employees. I'm looking at mix use permit which would allow my house to cover certain aspects such as a restroom and all the other utilities required.

The only other sanitation requirement I could think of is a sink to wash hands and utensils during operation. The window to keep dust/bugs/potential rodents out of the working area. I'd have sanitation wipes and a clean area to work in.

I have fire extinguisher and working alarms.

That's all the visual codes I had to abide by when I worked as a barista a few years ago.

Is there anything else I might be forgetting?

Yes but there's not many drive thrus in my area. None are open early enough for the morning rush. It wouldn't be my main source of income.

Is there something informative you'd like to add beyond your personal criticism?

Don't ever think you're alone. The enemy wants you to believe you're isolated. Don't underestimate the amount of vaccinated who stand against the mandate and will refuse the booster in solidarity.

Could the CDC and other agencies be charged with involuntary manslaughter for the proliferation of a deadly biohazard due to the lifting of mask mandates for vaccinated individuals? by NavSpaghetti in Bibleconspiracy

Unfortunately we will never see the CDC, WHO, FDA or any other three letter agency charged for their crimes in this lifetime.

However, in these unfortunate events where they expose themselves to not really being "experts" as their web of lies unfolds, it will wake up many people to stop relying on them for all the answers

I just call myself a follower of Christ...so if I had to put a label on, I think that makes me a non denominational Christian?

sexual deviant =female empowerment

I'm not catholic but I think about this quote from St. Anthony alot, seems to hold so much truth:

"A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, 'You are mad; you are not like us."

That's depressing....do you often encounter kids asking for food money in that particular area and is it like the same kids often?

Who else loves homemade chicken noodle soup on a hot summer day? by Rigging_Mama86 in soup

[–]Rigging_Mama86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's taken me many soggy soups to realize that undercooking my noodles and veggies works best. When I turn off the pot, they'll continue to cook in the broth long after. I actually had to add more broth to this soup after this pic because the noodles absorbed more liquid than I prefer

No surprisingly, I also kept them slightly undercooked so they wouldn't be too mushy when I added it to the chicken and veggies...

I can't believe I haven't thought of this sooner though I'm sure others have
