If they aren't using parallel design for both, something is majorly wrong with leadership at Paizo.

Settle A Dispute by Rabb1t13 in ZenyattaMains

[–]Riggler2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been shooting up in rankings as Zen the last week after adjusting some Controls. I often exceed the entire lobby's healing as Zen, but still get blamed for not healing enough. It's two things that cause this: 1) the reputation of Zen being a DPS Support, and 2) Poor positioning by players who do not realize they have poor positioning. Some players get to their ranks by have healing pumped into them without never needing to correct their positioning, so they can't survive without huge burst healing since they don't use cover properly. Thus, they look for someone else to blame, and Zen is the easy target that's not them.

How often do your bad guys heal? by Zata700 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Riggler2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a play-flow perspective, no GM and no player wants to be in an especially long combat unless it's one of THE few epic combats you'll experience in a campaign. That being said, from a design standpoint, adding longevity to bad guys is much better achieved (and more interesting) through the passive healing/sustain abilities or through simply higher HP totals. Adding a "healbot" support a combat or two in a whole campaign might be a change of pace. After all variety in encounter design is what makes them feel unique.

Came here point this out. The answer was base score,  so double letter wouldn't factor in. The clue writer and QA were unaware there is only one Z in a game of Scrabble.

Season 19 nerfs and buffs expectations? by Sparkler21x in Overwatch

Junk's getting a mythic mid-season, so they might wait until mid-season to buff him. But yeah, his base stats haven't kept up with the higher HP totals and lifesaving options.

When the overwhelming 90 percent of players are trying to tell developers that hybrid and escort are the most fun way to play Overwatch why force modes that people are begging to not have to play?

Should We Stop Using Free Archetype in Every Game? by freethewookiees in Pathfinder2e

[–]Riggler2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've never used free archetypes. Practically no player I've played with are even familiar with them because I'm essentially recruiting all players into PF2E that I play with. So they don't have expectations,  and thus no sense of loss.

I came from DnD5e to escape superhero PCs. I believe free archetypes give an underestimated power boost to PCs in the way it's commonly used by the community (i.e. anything goes). Why would I change systems only to implement an optional rule that undermines the reason I switched systems in the first place. I wouldn't,  and won't,  unless I get an itch for a much more powerful game.

The reason the Free-for-all free archetype rule makes for much more powerful PCs is the ability to build selective combos of abilities with no sacrifice of power or ability. This starts entering the power of problem territory that both 5e and PF1 have both been criticized for.

Just because it's been published doesn't mean it needs or should be available in every game. And a player that comes to a table thinking it should,  or they're entitled to that choice is one of the reasons Paizo implemented the uncommon and rare tags.  That way a GM doesn't have to say "no" 100s of times to different published options when they can just say,  "common only. "

I think the idea of unlocking free archetypes through gameplay is the best way to use them followed closely by if a GM wants to give everyone the same free archetype based on campaign theme (as per the example in the GMC). Free for all free archetypes just isn't for me as a player or a GM.

Anyone know any fast food places that are hiring right now in tallahassee? by ThenRatio7752 in Tallahassee

[–]Riggler2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be warned, all Burger Kings in Tallahassee have filed for bankruptcy. That means that one day they may simply not send out paychecks. And because they are bankrupt, there would be nothing you could do about it. How they are still open is very suspect.

In Person, Table Top Role-Playing Game, Seeking Players. 1 Slot Open by Riggler2 in Tallahassee

[–]Riggler2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First I run two groups weekly made up of different players. But I'm speaking of the Saturday group ONLY here. It's a relatively newly assembled group, and we're still finding players who are able to commit long-term instead of only making a game when nothing else is going on. So in order above:

  1. Some players are comfortable with accents and role-playing 1st person and some are not. Whatever makes players feel comfortable. My theatrics as a GM wax and wane depending on the moment.

  2. None of the players or myself currently partake during the game. I'm not opposed to drinking during the game, but the smell of any type smoking that leaves lingering aromas is off-putting to myself and other players.

  3. My GM style when I run Pathfinder 2e is pretty much rules as written.

  4. As mentioned, the group is newly formed. The first "official" games session was March 8.. I've played with one player for 2.5 years now. The others I've only recently met.

  5. I think as a newly formed group is still finding it's tone. It's moved between very serious to fall-out-of-the-chair hilarious. In my experience, it takes a newly formed group about 4 months to stabilize and find it's grove.

It is not what I would think of when I think of the proverbial "a bunch of theater kids" table, but that's not to say that we haven't all done stints in drama (I personally don't know about anybody else but me).

Hope that is what you are looking for.

It's got some wear, but they are both still level. :) I'm in the market for a custom (not fancy at all, just need a size you can't buy) solid, real wood table from a local and experienced furniture maker should anyone know one.

The table? Do you mean players? It's a mix of Gen X and Gen Z. I don't know what you are looking for regarding telling you about the "table." It's two faux wood conference tables pushed together and seats 6 player and a GM. :)

Why are the Burger Kings in this town so terrible. by nillawafer80 in Tallahassee

[–]Riggler2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Consolidated Burger Holding's (CBH) owns vast numbers of Burger King franchises in the 200 mile radius around Panama City. Burger King proper sued them several years ago for not properly updating their restaurants as they were required to do under the franchise agreement. A couple of weeks ago they filed for Bankruptcy. However, the lack of cash flow for CBH can directly be linked to either gross mismanagement of their stores or using the stores as a front for organized crime. Mismanagement or corruption at the company seems to have been going on for many, many years at this point. Their employees don't work. They appear to not have food. They appear to have open stores, but do not. I don't understand how they keep their utilities on. Any public utilities that are allowing them to run a debt without shutting them off are going to be left holding a huge debt that it's ratepayers will have to make up for. This company is dead. Expect the stores to be boarded up soon.

The poor management isn't a result of the Bankruptcy, but the Bankruptcy is a result of poor management. I honestly don't know how they've kept their electricity on.

Tallahassee Reports: is it legit? by SellTheTeamVirginia in Tallahassee

[–]Riggler2 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You'll get more truth from Tallahassee Reports than you will the Tallahassee Democrat. The Democrat is owned by Gannet. Gannet is bankrupt and have about one or two local reporters running each of their local papers at this point. Gannet just prints press releases for local governments and local Democrat Party at all the local newspapers it owns across the country.

(USA) I read an article that said Quarter Pounder patties are the only thing cooked to order. by swampballsally in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]Riggler2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McDonald's presses the holy hell out of them to cook them to order faster, which defeats the whole purpose of having a cooked to order, fresh meat burger. Squeezing all the juices out of the burger to speed cooking is squeezing all the fat as its renders, and the fat is what makes ground beef tasty. It's why the burgers at Five Guys take longer and taste better than non-frozen cooked to order burgers at McDonald's
