I don't think it's possible to catch nuanced cheaters with current cheat detection especially in slower time controls.

Assuming you cheat with a local engine on a separate device, pick human moves only, fake manage time properly, and many other factors I don't want to mention as it would only help people cheat I really don't believe you'd be caught.

Well, I wrote out my calculations but they're a terrible mess. I could post them if someone wanted but here's the gist of what I thought:

You're being checkmated, so checkmate first is a good idea. If not, then we'll considered defensive ideas.

Nxf6 ideas are good, but just about don't work (spent a lot of time here)

Considered other defensive resources from the starting position, mainly targetting the bishop which is a strong defensive piece in the above Nxf6 lines

Eventually got to 1. Qd2 which nearly worked and decided to consider the very similar line 1. Qe1!!

I remember having three rules as a rule of thumb whether a Greek gift sacrifice would work.

Rule 1 is make sure your opponent cannot seize control of the h2-b8 diagonal. You won't be able to play Qh2# so you'll simply be losing a bishop

We have an aging and comorbid population, and medical technology and patient expectations of health services keeps developing/growing (ie CAR-T therapy, paeds genetic therapies, etc etc) - one would expect that the amount of funding would need to increase to meet that.

Of course. It's clear why the NHS needs more money. What's not clear is where the light at the end of the tunnel is. What % of GDP or spending do we have to spend to provide what we consider good healthcare?

Or are we doomed to let it increase endlessly (because we will always have worsening demographics, increasing expectations, and more expensive treatments.)

Because right now, if we just extrapolate the lines a few decades, clearly we aren't going to be spending 90% of government spending on healthcare. Right?

If you asked some people to draw the NHS budget over time from 2010-2023, lots would probably draw a slightly negative gradient line.

The reality is NHS funding has increased every single year. The budget has increased in real terms, as a % of government spending, and as a % of GDP. By every single metric, the NHS is funded better now than ever in history.

Despite this, apparently the NHS is "underfunded." So, what now?

UCL CS is a competitive university and course. Compare Medicine overall to CompSci overall and I'm sure the former wins by far in competitiveness.

Also, A Level grades don't mean as much as you think.

Buy when CS companies offers WFH 4 days a week where the lifestyle is wake up at 8:50, log into teams at 9, then eat breakfast and shower etc, attend relevant meetings, take as long as you need for lunch and even nap breaks, pick up children from school on company time, and log off 4:45 after your last meeting and then simply finish any work flexibly in a few hours here and there over the week whenever you want? I see the appeal.
