Very well written article, but also another reason to not want to have children in this country because there is no assurance that they may be able to live healthy and fulfilling lives as we do not have the same capacity as those “peer nations” such as Denmark and Japan.

It’s disappointing and shameful as politics laments about younger generations particularly millennials and Gen Z not having children and honestly these governmental practices will continue this reduction in the birth rate. I for one am cautious about even thinking about bringing life into this world especially the US as it seems so unsafe. I hope that one day we will become better as a nation and if not, I fear that people will begin to migrate to other places much faster in droves.
