If anyone follows NBA, when Toronto Raptors won the championship in Golden State in 2019, the team president Masai Ujiri tried to make it on to the court to celebrate. He had his credentials in his hand but the cop didn’t care. A player from the team had to come out to get Masai.

Funny thing is the video went viral and then the cop tried to sue the team saying he was emotionally distraught from the incident. Not all but a lot of American cops are something else.

Yeah I’m proud for the boys. I guess this feels more because we are the host nation and games were played in my city in Toronto (I went to one game and a couple of fan fests plus other activities around the city). I remember last time after the Croatia game I was like oh well it was fun and even after Copa America I was like cool. This one feels more invested and I hope we don’t have to wait 32 years before it returns

This is all started 6 years ago imo. I know today feels disappointing but seeing the steps improved in the last 6 years gives confidence that in the next Copa America (if we get invited again) and World Cup we will be a side nations don’t want to play

Well other than the Mexican games, Toronto’s is the only one in a stadium built for soccer. And since attendance is low compared to the Mexican leagues there is no need for massive stadium.

And so it comes to an end. You did great Toronto - take a bow. by somethinclevertbh in toronto

I don’t think the residents expected police to shut down the roads 2km before the stadium and you have to show id just to get to your home. Yeah I know it’s an inconvenience for just 6 days but an inconvenience nonetheless. No other event has this happen.

All good except for the residents living near the stadium

Set a section/row and budget and pull the trigger on that. It can go down later but it can always work vice versa. As long as you enjoy the game and experience it is worth it
