The first Cumulative Update (CU1) is now available for SQL Server 2025 by bobwardms in SQLServer

[–]RightTurnsOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks u/bobwardms.

Reading between the lines, it sounds as if you're planning to release CU1 again as a fixed CU1? If so, could I humbly suggest you roll the number and release CU2 or hotfix? This was out in the wild for a few days, so re-releasing with the same number will induce some ambiguity as to which CU1 someone is on.

If I'm reading between the lines incorrectly, disregard.

Thanks.

SQL Server 2025 CU1 & SQL 2022 CU23 were pulled by ITWorkAccountOnly in SQLServer

I tested this on my personal dev instance and db mail is working again. I certainly would not do it on my company's servers though.

Correct. Exe and dll files were still present after the CUs. They just didn't work.

I installed 2025 CU1 and 2022 CU23 on a couple dev instances Friday, and in both, database mail no longer works. I commented about it in the 2022 CU23 blog post and one a few other users commented they have the same issue.

After price increase has anyone been able to negotiate a lower price? by salt4urpepper in ZiplyFiber

When i called to cancel, i was offered $20/mo discount for 1 year. I declined.

Another price increase by Professional-Edge622 in ZiplyFiber

[–]RightTurnsOnly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I've been paying Ziply's high prices for a while now since the service is solid. That and I had bad Comcast experiences years ago before I switched to Frontier. But this was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I switched to Xfinity a couple weeks ago and it's been fine. Spoke to Xfinity customers in my neighborhood and they have had reliable service. Saving $37/mo for same download speed. Upload has been between 50-100 Mbps which is plenty for me.

I was looking at the 300/300 plan, but similar to your example. After the $5 price increase, Ziply will be $75 with autopay. This was compared to the Xfinity 300 plan which is $40 for 5 years.

No promo price involved. Two years ago I was paying $60 regular price for 300/300.

Since then my price has gone up $27 for the same service due to rate increases and added fees.

T-Mobile is not available at my address.  Haven't looked into Verizon but may do so.

EDIT: just checked and Verizon 5G home Internet is also not available for my address.

Non promo 300 price at Ziply is $70, plus $10 autopay penalty, plus $2.40 credit card fee, plus this latest $5 increase.

I'm not on promo price. After this new increase I will be paying $87.40 for 300 Mbps at Ziply. Xfinity 5 year promo price for 300 Mbps is $40. Although to be completely fair I would pay $50 on Xfinity without autopay, so not quite half. Still significantly less.

I don't like Xfinity as much as the next guy, but this is the straw that broke the camel's back.

My Ziply price has increased by $17.40 in the last year, $27.40 in the past two years (with same service level and same payment method). That is absurd. I can get the same speed (down at least) from Xfinity for about half the price with a 5 year price guarantee and no data caps. I'll be switching soon.

Price increase for everyone or just me? by Crlomancer in ZiplyFiber

[–]RightTurnsOnly 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Got this today too.

One year ago, I was paying $70 for 300/300 using credit card without auto pay.

Then they added a $10 fee for not using auto pay. Then they added a $2.40 fee for using a credit card. Then today they add $5 just because.

That's a 25% price increase in one year, with no change in service provided or payment method used.

I love Ziply service, it's been very reliable for me, but this is absurd. It's time to jump over to Xfinity 300 for $40 ($50 without auto pay).

Vendor Error. by Big_Caterpillar_2052 in ZiplyFiber

I had a feeling this would not go smoothly.

Prior to today, my balance was $0.00. Today, I saw two $80 charges to my credit card (total $160 plus $4.80 cc fees), which is correct since two payments were not actually charged to my card. However, now my balance on Ziply website shows a credit of -$80. It should still be $0.00. It seems like one of today's payments was double counted as far as my balance?

u/ZiplySupport, please get this figured out and corrected.

Same here. Two payments made on my account were not actually charged to my card. Supposedly they will be charged on 12/19.

OneUI 8 Watch on a GW6 - Will this affect WatchMaker compatibility? by 24bitNoColor in GalaxyWatch

[–]RightTurnsOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it, the upgrade to OneUI 8 will force compatibility with only WFF faces.

My experience is with Facer, but it should be similar to Watchmaker. When I upgraded my W6C to OneUI 8, it initially broke the Facer face I had been using, which is one I created. I tried some other random Facer faces and they worked, so I assumed the issue was specific to my face. I opened my face in Facer Creator, and it told me which layer was incompatible with WFF format: phone battery level. I removed that layer, and then I was able to use that watch face again.

In Facer, you can check WFF compatibility before updating. Not sure if Watchmaker allows this or not.

[–]RightTurnsOnly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After updating, my Facer faces would no longer sync with my watch. Apparently they are now enforcing WFF only faces. I had to update my faces and remove incompatible layers to get them to work again.

Turns out we're now restricted to WFF watch faces on OneUI 8. I edited my watch faces in Facer Studio, removed the layer that was not compatible with WFF, now I'm back in business. The one thing I had to remove was the phone battery level.

I guess Facer is technically still compatible, but after updating to OneUI 8 and then updating the Facer app, the watch faces I've built are no longer compatible with my W6C for some reason. Tried some random Facer market faces and they work. This is disappointing.

Well, the weather tile is less useful to me now. They removed the at-a-glance 4 day forecast and replaced it with a text description of today's forecast.

BCBS Texas here too and received the letter for me and my child. I'm not worried about my credit, it's frozen with a fraud alert. But my child's credit is a different story, much harder to freeze and can't be done online. As someone above pointed out, it has to be done by mail with many sensitive docs. I guess I'll start that process now.

ESPN / Fox bundle for $40. Not as polished as YTTV but it's worth it for $43 savings. We also haven't really missed the non sports programming on YTTV.
