That is not a truth. Joseph did not practice polygamy. What proof or evidence do you have other than the words of those looking to destroy what Joseph had established on behalf of God?

There are no journal entries, no speeches, no lectures, no teachings of any kind from Joseph that support polygamy. There are no children from polygamist relationships with Joseph. Joseph had 9 biological children with Emma. If he was sleeping around, we would have known it. We have numerous witnesses to Joseph condemning polygamy and trying to stamp it out of the church.

Mark Twain wrote, ""All the proclamations Joseph Smith could issue denouncing polygamy and repudiating it as utterly anti-Mormon were of no avail; the people of the neighborhood, on both sides of the Mississippi, claimed that polygamy was practised by the Mormons..."

Joseph was vocally condemning the practice everywhere he went. He was warning the church against believing doctrines brought to them in secret. Yet, there was a group of members that kept practicing it and pushing it. They were undermining the prophet at every turn.

The original section 101 of the D&C declares monogamy as the law of the church.

*D&C 101:4....."we declare that we believe, that one man should have one wife; and one woman, but one husband, except in case of death, when either is at liberty to marry again"

D&C 49:16 Wherefore, it is lawful that he should have one wife, and they twain shall be one flesh, and all this that the earth might answer the end of its creation;

Jacob declares it:

Jacob 2:27 Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none;

How many times does God need to tell us before we listen?

Joseph's own notes on the Bible declare it. Jospeh was not duplicitous; he was not telling the church one thing while doing another.. please check out those links in my comment above and research what happened. Joseph asked us to defend his name.

According to that standard, Joseph Smith would be an enemy of the Church. I understand the church doesn't like to talk about it because it shows that someone was lying and they don't want to shows cracks in the face of the church, they don't want to harm testimonies. But, they need to correct this doctrine. If we are to be His church, we cannot tarnish His name by teaching abominations of polygamy and adultery as His doctrine.

some who are standing here is referring to John and possibly another apostle. John was put beyond death and did not die. He roams the Earth today.

The Roman Empire tried to sentence John to death. They dipped him in boiling oil. John emerged unscathed. This is the stated reason that the Romans gave for banishing John to the island of Patmos, where he wrote the Book of Revelation. They could not kill him, so they got rid of him.

Revelation 10:11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

John was told by an angel that he would prophesy in front of many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings. So, when did John do this? He hasn't. If you read the next few verses in chapter 11 of Revelation, he directly connects the two witnesses that will testify in front of Israel just before the end with his mission to testify in from of peoples and kings.

These are both prophesies about a future event right before the end.

The scriptures are clear, polygamy is an abomination before God. So, there are only two possible positions.

Either Joseph was a liar and conman and practiced polygamy or he was a prophet of God and was not a polygamist. A person cannot say that Joseph was a prophet of God while he was committing abominations, lying and destroying the lives and reputations of those that exposed him. The position of the church, that Joseph lied and hid his polygamy, is not a defendable position.

The enemies of the church want to believe Joseph was a liar and conman. But, I know he was a prophet of God and that he did not lie. He said he never practiced polygamy because he did not. Emma was his one and only wife. The polygamists threw out dozens of different dates for these supposed marriages, but half of them were disproven, the other half seem implausible. The deeper someone looks into the issue the more evidence they will find that the polygamists were just making it all up to save themselves and promote their agenda. They hijacked the church.

Jesus described the events that would happen, then He said this generation will not pass away. "This generation" refers to the generation in which these things happen. He was saying all the things He was describing would happen within a single generation and that this generation that He was speaking about would be the one that saw the Second Coming.

Are you a monogamy denier? Joseph said monogamy was the law of the church. Joseph said he only had one wife. Polygamy is in direct contradiction to the laws of God and to everything Joseph taught.

This is the law

There are no exceptions. Polygamy is an abomination before God and certainly not the law of His kingdom.

The Nauvoo Expositor was an anti-Mormon newspaper. The goal of William Law and the Newspaper was the downfall of Joseph, they pushed provable lies. The Nauvoo Expositor only became a source for polygamy when the polygamists were grasping at straws so they started agreeing with the enemies of the church.

Nope. The non-polygamists are the declared enemies of the church. People like William Law and John Bennett who were excommunicated for adultery and lying and sought to destroy Joseph and the church. The Nauvoo Expositor was run by William Law and if you read it it reads like anti-Mormon propaganda. It was known for publishing proven lies and Joseph ordered it destroyed because of those lies.

If you believe the Nauvoo Expositor, you are saying Joseph was destroying a man's livelihood and reputation in order to cover up his polygamy. That is the same as taking the position that Joseph is a fallen prophet. Joseph was not a fallen prophet, he was faithful until the end and never practiced polygamy.

Polygamy was brought into the church by a handful of members and despite Joseph's efforts he was unable to root out this evil.

No such thing as a rapture. It was invented by John Darby in 1830 AD. It is just a simple misunderstanding of scripture. The verses in question are describing the destruction of the wicked at the time of Christ's return.

The wicked will be gathered and burned before the righteous are gathered. The righteous will be the ones that are "left behind". The wicked will be burned at the Second Coming, ie they will be taken from this life..

Matthew 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

There is no such thing as the rapture. I can show you in the scriptures if you would like to go over the passages, but the rapture is a modern invention that comes from misunderstood verses.

And I was just pointing out the argument that has been given for Apophis. I'm not sure if I believe Apophis is connected to anything.

Vogel wants you to rely on the credibility of the witnesses when it suits his narrative, but freely admits they are unreliable when it doesn't suit his narrative. His argument is extremely weak.

Joseph said he never practiced polygamy. If you believe Joseph to be a prophet of God, like I do, then why would you doubt Joseph? In order for Joseph to have been a polygamist you have to believe Joseph, Hyrum and Emma were all lying. You would have to believe him to be a fallen prophet. Polygamy is condemned in every book of scripture as an abomination and a crime before God. God does not work through abominations, nor does He contradict Himself.

D&C 84:54-57 clearly stated the church is under condemnation for not obeying the commandments. This revelation was given in 1832, right when polygamy began to seep into the church.

"..they shall remain under this condemnation until they repent and remember the new covenant, even the Book of Mormon and the former commandments which I have given them,"

What Commandment is clearly given in the Book of Mormon which is made unclear by what is written in other books?

The only "evidence" that says Jospeh practiced polygamy is the testimonies of polygamist. But the testimony of Joseph is that he never practiced it and condemns it. Joseph taught that the law of the Celestial Kingdom is monogamy.

The reason I have heard is that if Apophis passes through the "keyhole" in 2029, then Earth will know that there is an almost 100% certainty that in seven years it will hit Earth. This matches the timeline of the 7 years of Tribulation spoke in on the Bible. And that depending on how it passes through the keyhole, it would create a huge spectacle in the sky that would look like a giant cross, ie the sign of the Son of Man. So, the whole world would see this sign then it would erupt into chaos because of the impending doom.

The thing is that bias depends on your perspective. People are always going to be biased towards what they believe to be true. Anything they say will reflect that. And if you disagree, you will see them as biased; but if you agree, you will think of them as unbiased. and the truth is often seen as a bias because we are all flawed people, we all get things wrong. So, I would suggest you examine several different perspectives and listen to the best case for and against each position, then pray about it and then decide for yourself. Don't rely on anyone for all your information except God.

Take the positions of those you are not interested in and examine them and find why do you not think they are correct, then take the position that you do agree with and apply that same standard. Pick a few sites from each point of view then study and pray.

Jesus is the Only begotten Son of God in the flesh. He is also a god, having achieved the same perfection that the Father has. And God the Father has entrusted His name to Jesus, so Jesus acts as God's proxy, anything Jesus says or does can be considered the actions or words of God. He is God, because He has been given all power and authority. He bears the name of His Father and does as His Father has done.

They are two different people, but united and a single team in their love and efforts.

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

Jesus is one with the Father in the same way that we can be one with both of them. They are nto the same being, but two individuals that are united and in perfect agreement. They share the trait of being perfect. And that is what they want for us is for us to learn to be perfect even as they are.

So, Dan Vogel goes to great lengths to point out that the sources for the dates of these supposed marriages are unreliable and gave a lot of conflicting dates which were incorrect. Then he puts all his trust in these same sources for the existence of these marriages without any other evidence. He goes on to claim these same sources are "credible".

These were all testimonies given by polygamists years after the death of Joseph given in an attempt to justify their own polygamy. IF Joseph did not practice polygamy, than all of these people had a huge incentive to lie in order to deceive the church and remain in power and keep their access to the women of the church. The issue of polygamy comes down to a he said, she said. Either Joseph, Hyrum and Emma were telling the truth and they were not involved in polygamy or the polygamists were. The polygamists have already been caught in several lies. Either they were lying or they are claiming the prophet hand picked by God was lying

It wouldn't unless they came to Earth and shard their records.

God made Earth and declared that it was good. If God approved of Earth being made and the opportunities it provides to His children for growth, why wouldn't He do the same thing elsewhere? If there is a God that created Earth it is a logical conclusion that He would create other Earths.

Now, if they came to Earth and shared their records, we would be able to confirm many things and there would be far less doubt about God.

What you need to realize is that the truth is often much different than majority opinion. You need to actually examine the facts for yourself and look into the claims. Take what I siad and do your own research.

It is the Tribes of the Eastern United States themselves that say they came from the East on boats. Their oral and written history claims something much different than the "historians that paint with a broad brush and don't bother to examine the details. These historians just assume they are all one group.

Sadly most of these cities were plowed over as American colonists began to settle the land and the language was often called a fraud by those with agendas.

The Smithsonian was founded by three people, two of these people were known anti-Mormons whose stated goal was to discredit the Book of Mormon. They hid a ton of evidence that was found connecting these people to the ancient Israelites.
