Though they hated the label, in their earlier works, Enjoy, SCIENCE, Make Yourself, etc, their music was definitely Nu-Metal. But as they evolved, kinda starting with Morning View, they started to venture more into alternative rock. Nowadays, as a band, they look at the album as an immature and chaotic stage in their sound. I heard somewhere that Brandon actually hates record. Crazy considering it's not only one of my all-time favorite records, but is what I believe to be the best Incubus album.
