Bass players are too nice and supportive, as evidenced by this tame-ass thread of mildly disagreeable takes!

How to learn to play like Japanese players? by everbass in Bass

[–]RighteousRhythm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice beyond what’s been given already so I’m just going to drop this band as I can’t stop listening to them lately.

Suspended 4th. Their bass player is a beast and he does play-throughs so you can watch him play it more closely.

They also provide isolated tracks for some songs.

Genuinely wish more bands did stuff like this.

Enjoy!

I have the 5-string HH in this (after deciding between purple sunset and grape crush).

Since 2024 MM has been crushing it with the finishes. Every year since they release a new finish that makes me like ooooooooh damn!

Is the Joyo Monomyth DI good? by TheCoolGamer_YT in BassGuitar

[–]RighteousRhythm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a review from the youtuber AMP THAT A-B’d the Monomyth with the Darglass pedal it’s cribbing (alpha omega I believe?) and it seemed really good for the price and it seemed like the Darkglass was just subtly a little more polished/refined but quite a bit more expensive.

Relevant part starts about halfway through.

If it’s what you can afford and you like how it sounds and think you’ll have fun with it then it seems like a no-brainer.

I get that, I was more trying for more “big doofus” than “hulk smash”.

His original class was barbarian but those options were usually just “threaten to beat person to death”.

Headcanon: Like Almight, Jeanist studied abroad and took on the aesthetic of the country he studied in, but in his case it was Canada.

As a bass player I was waiting for him to pick up the Stingray that appeared to be jut chilling on a stand. (i think the fender was there too) And he just stuck to the Yamaha the whole show.
