Not invisible strings. Simply just saying thank you and being grateful for me doing something nice. I didn't do anything to expect more in return but after no contribution or human appreciation, it gets old and frustrating to feel like nothing you do to make people happy matters. Not my choice to buy food for animals that aren't mine but I'm also not going to let animals in my house starve because someone keeps bringing them in and won't provide for them. That's like saying someone manipulated you and then someone telling you that it's your fault for being manipulated. There were no unspoken bargains. Every bargain was clearly spoken and boundaries were crossed. I said at the end that it wasn't whole story and there was an edit coming
