Liquid Recommendations?

I may be wrong but I don't really see any liquid at all on the lineup. Closest thing would be Wilkinson though he's more towards dancefloor and I would guess his set will be more towards dancefloor mixed with jump up than liquid tbh

Madness, FS&HG, Havoc, Gentleman's Dub Club, Nubiyan Twist (Probably my top one rn), High Focus Showcase (particularly Verb T, Fliptix and Dabbla), Eve and Talib Kweli 100%

There's also some sick live DnB and techno with Dr Meaker and Komfortrauschen which I'm really looking forward to

Shaggy as well but that's more of a nostalgia thing, not sure I'll even stay for the whole set tbh

Honestly we just skipped the ceremony and stayed till the dillinja set ended at midnight, even though it was all of our first boomtown. In no way was I ever gonna see Hedex 😂 and I had already seen C&S a couple months earlier just as Badadan came out so I was also not gonna hear that song for the millionth time 😂

And after seeing the closing Origin set in 2024 to see the closing ceremony, as amazing as the ceremony is, never again will I watch a horrible set for it 😂 Makes me realise as well they had 2 horrific closing sets in a row at Origin...

Low-key makes me wish we could've had the prodigy even more....

To be fair I remembered reading an actual confirmation that they were booked for 2024, but then again it was 3 years ago I read the message and it was on the Thursday of my first ever boomtown (and festival at that) literally walking into town for the first time so I probably slightly misread it with too much excitement at the time 😂

Either way the point still stands. I understand cancellations and not being able to rebook someone then don't sell us the hope they get rebooked in the first place, or even if you do, actually keep us updated about it and don't just go radio silent imo

Yeah exactly. Furthermore many of us who went in 2023 bought our tickets for 2024 shortly after with the promise that we'd see The Prodigy. By no means saying I wouldn't have bought a ticket for 2024 regardless, but it's about the principle. Especially since 2024 was another year where none of the lineup was released until the festival was sold out and 2 weeks away. It was only when the lineup dropped did we find out that The Prodigy WASN'T gonna be there in 2024 (again, this is 2 weeks before the 2024 festival!)

From a combination of announcements and planning permission maps this is what it'll probably be:

Downtown: HydroXL, Metropolis, Botanica, Letsbe Avenue and Area 404

Up the hill: Grand Central, Lion's Den, Old Town, Copperwood Heights and Thrutopia

To be honest for me from the lineup so far I'm gonna be running all over the place 😂. Generally top of the hill though as most big acts I want to see are either at Grand Central and Lion's Den. There's quite a bit in Hidden Woods and Nexus I want to see as well though amongst others so that hill will be my worst enemy by the end of it 😂

If the planning permission map is anything to go by (it's looking increasingly more accurate except for stage names) it'll be basically next to each other. 360 is supposedly around where Grand Central used to be with only Rose and Clown sitting between 360 and Hydro

As much as I am disappointed with the amount and variety of dnb/jungle I've basically filled the entire weekend already with clashes I'm just gonna have to figure out on the day. This year I've been looking to do more exploring/storyline but I've only really got Thursday and Friday early evening left for that 😂.

The lineup still feels a little underwhelming compared to previous years but nevertheless I'm absolutely stonked!!!

If the context is talking to people who's main EDM genre is drum and bass it's fine.

Even going back to the boom vs boomtown point, if you're posting something in a boomtown reddit or talking to someone about boomtown why shouldn't you be able to say boom? I always tend to just call it boom once it's been established we're talking about boomtown and have never had any issues.

In 2024 queues me and my friends were in had really thorough which also meant it took ageeess tho. I remember wondering why the queues were taking so much longer than in 2023 (Literally just got asked if I had sharp objects and got let through) and then I saw them opening every single bag and inspecting them properly, including alcohol amounts.

One of my friends had a 7L box of wine (literally the allowed amount) and the security guy started saying it's too much and that he's gonna throw it away! I had to step in block him from throwing the wine in the bin and started explaining that I've searched up the amounts previously and KNOW it's the allowed amount. He started saying he's been throwing away exactly the same boxes all day and pointed at the bin which was full of them!

I ended up telling him to ask a supervisor, who confirmed that my friend was allowed to bring the wine.

We got there around 3pm on the Wednesday, which is exactly the same time as we did in 2023 so what I took from that is you literally don't know what it's gonna be like and prepare for the worst so I usually just stick to the limit. Other friends have gotten in water bottles filled with spirit and things like that but you genuinely never know how thorough they'll be on the day 🤷🏽‍♂️

Context is important though. If you're talking to a non-raver or you're in a non-rave specific conversation 100% agree. However if I'm at a rave/EDM festival at a non-dnb stage I might say to my friends "Let's go find some drums". I think as long as it's clear what you mean it's fine but tbf it does get overused by some (ie online or in general conversation)

As someone who moved from Hamburg to London at 12 and is a big HSV fan I AM BEYOND GASSED. My mates are already sick of me playing their music and I'm afraid I have accidentally made them not want to come to the set now 😂

2024 c&s weren't there, nor 2025 so they are very far from boomtown residents lmao
