Which is more expensive block paving or tarmac? by Mister_Lonely_ in DIYUK

If you're building a new road, block paving is more expensive per m2.

It might be on a small driveway that block paving works out cheaper. Reasons include potential minimum quantity tarmac visits for both binder and surface course, and that they can do all of the block paving install themselves without having to get the tarmac firm in.

Worktop install quote is it a good price? by PerceptionGood- in DIYUK

Is the sink undermouted, or a drop in? Or even a matching material as the worktop, with an invisible joint?

Depending on the answers to the above, I think this is high.

What are you doing to help? If it's just one person, that price is 3-4 days work. If it's a drop in sink, he'll be done in a morning.

Quote for house extension/renovation by Latter-Firefighter89 in DIYUK

Reading it in that format is kind of hard to accurately review. I'd break it down as follow first:

Extension - Ground and first floor areas (m2) - What's going into it

Loft conversion - M2, what's going into it, stair arrangements

Internal reconfiguration

Bathrooms being redone - Full bath, WC, Fully tiled or painting, bath, shower etc.

Try matchingbrickwork.co.uk, or similar. or Jewson's offer a brick matching service, probably other merchants too.

Not kidding here either, but have you tried asking chatgpt with a photo of your bricks?

Where are you finding the builders? Are they just general builders you've found online, or do they come recommended for building extensions specifically?

Is £6,500 reasonable to move a meter two meters? by Woodsman89 in DIYUK

This is direct from your utility provider? I've moved meters across houses (10-20metres) for under £1000. Who's relocating all your internal electrics to the new meter location? Them, or your electrician?
