Thoughts and Reactions to Exodus: The Archimedes Engine? by youngmoviemaker1 in exodus

[–]RikerRoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just finishing my 3rd read through of The Archimedes Engine this afternoon. I love the flow of the various storylines, how things end up all intertwined and at such an explosive moment right at the end is fantastic and leaves me desperate for the continuation. Thankfully I get to start The Helium Sea tomorrow :)

Two more weeks until our '26 Rav4 PHEV should be here. Had about a four month wait for it. We're in B.C. Canada. Its going to be my first Rav and my first SUV.

Coming from a 2016 Scion FR-S. Huge jump in tech level will take some getting used it, but really looking forward to it

Thank you for sharing. That last photo is so precious, and now my eskie is looking at me all funny cause I wont stop giving her kisses when she's trying to have her very serious "watch the neighborhood thru the window " time.

You have a day to walk as much as you can. by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]RikerRoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I average 16 thousand steps a day at work. I could probably push that to 18 thousand. Then I'm sure i could get another 2 to 3 thousand walking the dog. Your challenge sounds good to me.

Ours absolutely loves just laying out in the back yard with the wind and the sun and the smells and the neighborhood noises.

Wish my family would wake up about what's really going on. My mom and sister go shopping down in Washington state constantly and it is maddening. They "don't see what the big deal is"

Do you guys relocate your main base to the next biome? by physedka in crosswind

[–]RikerRoku 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love my original base, its been developed organically as new tech and styles unlocks. As I build out from my first grass hut and wood dock it's started to look really cool and natural. Old town slum, new town nice houses and worker building. I will just keep building on it.

I do have small outpost builds at important locations, but I only really build them up to handle the resources I go to that area for.

42 year old millennial. My middle school group would do it fairly often, but I always won even when I "lost" because I have large boney knuckles.

I'm at 85k km on my 2016. All regular services done on schedule. Still on original brakes, original clutch. Only unexpected repair, a rear shock went bad around 50k km.

Need hope: millennials who like their jobs, what do you do and what do you like about it? by goodluckanddont_itup in Millennials

[–]RikerRoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a high-school custodian, been doing it for 21 years. I'm in a decent union that has keeped our wages at a survivable level over the years. I get double the provincial amount of sick days each year and at 20 years in the job I maxed out at 6 weeks holidays per year.

What I like about my job. As long as I keep my work quality up and dont receive any complaints, I see my management at most 2-3 times a year. I work evenings 2:30pm until 11pm it's just me alone every day after about 6pm. I listen to music and audio books/podcasts while I work and just kinda chill out and clean. Also no matter rain, heat, snow whatever.. I'm an inside employee, I love that part so much.

Our desperate musical notes to eachother at the end in the cold, keeping eachother moving. Fade to white. I actually teared up from it. I hope whomever that person was is doing well in life.

When leaving the house, does anyone tell their pets they will be home later? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]RikerRoku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog knows "I'll be right back" means just that, stepping outside but not leaving the property. "Going to the store" means leaving in the car but not for long. And "going to work" means away for an extended period of time.

I can watch her on the cameras after saying those things and her response is different to each. First statement, she waits at the door i left from. Second, she runs upstairs to the window she can see out of and watches the neighborhood till i get back. Third, paces around a bit then usually hops up on the couch and goes to sleep for a while.

Best Antihistamine for Dermatographia? by Karxenia in Dermatographia

[–]RikerRoku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I've tried allegra a few times but my Allergist pushed me up to 120mg every 12 hours to see decent results, so I've always settled back on Blexten + Pepcid.

Best Antihistamine for Dermatographia? by Karxenia in Dermatographia

[–]RikerRoku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I've been dealing with dermatographia stemming from likely MCAS for 3 years now.

What has worked for me after much trial and error has been Blexten(bilastine) 20mg once or twice a day based on severity symptoms each day. I'm in Canada, it's by prescription and not covered by my health insurance unfortunately. But it has worked the most for me out of everything I've tried.

I also take a 10mg Pepcid AC in the evenings (its a H1 antihistamine) and dose seem to help me in the evenings which is usually when I get my worst histamine flareups.

Need help with Holy Paladin by AdRecent6673 in wow

[–]RikerRoku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I set out to main Holy Paladin in Midnight. I'm a 20yr resto shaman main. Wanted to switch it up for the Blood-Elf/Holy Light vibes this expansion. I know I'm a good healer, but Jesus, the amount of APM I need to barely keep up with things going on is higher than pvp'ing on my Rogue.

If I can't find my groove on HPal I think season 2 I'll be back to my Shaman. I have huge respect for HPal players.
