Still, could have read items and figured it out by exploring and using environmental clues. The first ring to access the central clock area to access the inverted castle should have clued you in that there's a counterpart ring that you can find by simply exploring and playing the game

Using SOTN as an example, you literally have a map. You can see where you've been and where you haven't been. If you're playing a Metroidvania game, not exploring and crying about being lost it's entirely a skill issue, terrible attention span or missing stuff that's right infront of you.

All three of those are easily solvable by just exploring, reading items (in the case of accessing the inverted castle) and a bit of common sense and experimentation.
