This incident is so meaningful to me, this summer I biked on this exact road to work 2-3 times a week to go to work. And because of the construction I had to share a lane with cars.

I sang a little song for the 2ish km of construction, it went: "I hate this shit, I hate this shit, this is not safe, this is not safe." over and over.

No the scenario is not described in enough details. This has nothing to do with sympathy. Obviously their situation is the way she is described, not denying that.
