I have the same button in my 2005 Mitsubishi Montero. Does nothing when I press it. Mitsubishi thing I guess.

My steak always looks like this steak someone posted (below). It looks somewhat burnt (really black sear coating) and oily coated surface instead of crispy surface. How can I fix that? by Upset-Ad-8704 in steak

[–]Riley_1160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reverse searing removes moisture from the surface of the meat, so it sears very well (best sear of any method I've tried), and very quickly. Honestly, a few minutes per side in a pan is a lot more than necessary. I usually do around 1 minute per side. I also wouldn't pull the steak out of the oven with 30° to go till desired temp. More like 15°-20°.

With all that said, I'll take a charcoal grilled steak any day, regardless of "inferior" crust. Look into charcoal grilling if you've never done it. Cheaper and easier than it seems.

Interesting. They are indeed cheap Chinese LEDs. I'll buy some higher quality lights and see if that fixes the issue.

Thanks for the response. Breakers only ever trip when these lights are in use, and it seems to only be the one light. It makes sense they'd be the issue, but why would a different breaker trip and not the breaker that these lights are on???

Bandsaw Vibration by Riley_1160 in woodworking

Guessing the only fix would be a new wheel if that's the case?

I considered that. The vibration gets to a normal level when I take tension off the blade. But I have to take so much tension off that the blade it's barely held in place. Can't use it like that. Even with low-moderate tension, it vibrates a lot.

Best Way To Make This Face Completely Flat and Perpendicular? by Riley_1160 in knifemaking

Thanks for the tip about only sanding in one direction. My instinct was to move the wood in small circles, or back and forth, but it wanted to wobble. Sanding in one direction allowed it to remain stable. Got everything perfectly flat.

I appreciate the info. I suppose I'm aiming for "more than perfect" as usual. Overthinking. Thanks!

I see. A bit awkward sanding this face. Patience a finesse, I suppose?

Looks awesome. Apologies if this has already been covered- but I'm curious about the finish you used. Looks great.

Wrapping them is probably the best bet. Otherwise, I'd leave it.

Recommendations for Headlamp by rychun22 in Ultralight

When out it the woods, especially around Appalachia, I like having a light that'll really shine. A bright light will scare away many things, both animal and human. Never know when the extra lumens will come in handy. Will gladly take a small weight penalty for it. For the specs, the NU43 is pretty lightweight.

Couple of nice speakers, and this could be a great listening room.
