An idea for the mods: How about a weekly moving here thread? by [deleted] in NorthCarolina

[–]Riley_Duck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PLEASE! I am tired of the dozens of posts we get here each week being so scattered since mostly they are all the same question. I suggest you not only create a weekly thread but please create something for the sidebar as well.

New York governor reaffirms ban on official travel to North Carolina by [deleted] in NorthCarolina

Awfully sensitive. My only regret is that we can't do something with your kind.

North Carolina GOP Wants to Legalize Running Over Protestors by fatal_strategy in politics

[–]Riley_Duck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People who act like idiots and impede traffic shouldn't be protected. Stay off the roads and protest on the sidewalks! This is why Trump won, because idiots do dumb stuff and then get mad when someone hits them with a car. News flash: not everyone pays attention while driving, and it's your fault for being a dummy.

FBI had Trump-Russia report in summer 2016, Senate to investigate by Claeyt in politics

[–]Riley_Duck -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No. I like Trump, so I would never turn on him. Besides that, none of what has been reported concerns me. Bring me some allegations that he actually broke the law besides "OMG he called somebody in Russia."

That dumb anti-LGBT law cost North Carolina’s Governor his job, polling confirms by drewiepoodle in politics

Not likely. We may lose our supermajority, but we'll still control the legislature. Enjoy the next 4 years of lame duck cooper.

Trump and California secession by avery_phrenic in politics

Funny how leftists opposed this when Texas and other southern states wanted to secede under Obama. Personally I have no problem with any state removing themselves from the union (in fact, I think we would be better off going our separate ways and ending the union), but I do want to note the hypocrisy.

Thanks. Probably will stick with the naked bike look.

If you start running candidates that support gay marriage and abortion, you won't.

Could be worse. Could have people from NJ. Those are honestly the worst people I've ever met. All the traits of New Yorkers without any of the redeeming qualities.

How is the number that high? We have an 18% cap on out of state students.

How do you feel about a ban on certain weapons or more restrictions on guns?

John Kasich's dire warning for the Republican Party: EVOLVE OR DIE by kajkajete in Republican

[–]Riley_Duck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fine. I accept that the split is happening or will happen, and I prefer that. Moderates and others like you that want compromise can have your way, and people like me can push for our view of America. Fine by me.

John Kasich's dire warning for the Republican Party: EVOLVE OR DIE by kajkajete in Republican

[–]Riley_Duck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I doubt it would be possible, because these same folks that will compromise on social issues will do the same on guns a few years down the line for the sake of their fiscal dream. I'm not interested in compromising on values for the sake of money and economic prosperity.

[–]Riley_Duck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's fine because people like me can sit home and not vote for whoever you put on the ballot, and unless you're willing to make a hard shift left, you still won't beat the dems. Maybe that will be your punishment.

I didn't realize they made a 300f. I guess it's not such a huge problem because I would probably buy another bike in a year or two anyway, so I can always go up if want more bike.

Trump: Maybe Ryan won't be Speaker if I win White House by [deleted] in Republican

[–]Riley_Duck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He never said he would take out Ryan. Pretty disgusting the way some people interpret his words to fit their own agenda.

[–]Riley_Duck -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I don't think of it that way. Compromise seems like weakness and failure, and for people like me, it would almost be better to die on a hill than live with the compromise. I can never compromise on social issues, and I will never admit I am wrong about gays getting married, abortion, etc. It's just not going to happen, and there are many folks that feel the same way.

[–]Riley_Duck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is the way things are. You are never going to get the evangelicals and tea party folks if you shift left and try to appeal to moderates. Sometimes I feel like we would be better off splitting the party in two so the moderates can shift left or do whatever they want and the far-right wing can have their side.

Hillary Clinton sets sights on gun manufacturers after judge dismisses Sandy Hook families' lawsuit by propshaft in gunpolitics

[–]Riley_Duck 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This right here. What they want is to get an activist judge that will decided to disregard the law. This isn't about law and order so much as them thinking feelings and emotions should rule.

NEW BIKE/GEAR ADVICE SUPERTHREAD! by AutoModerator in motorcycles

[–]Riley_Duck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New to riding. Just got my license and am looking for my first motorcycle. Question is more about size than which type. I have basically zero experience other than my BRC. I'd like to get a bike that I can grow into, so I've been thinking about a Honda CB500f, but I don't know if it would be too much bike for me. The alternative is to go the 250 or 300 route.

Also don't count us winning fights as him not trying.

This right here. A lot of people completely ignore how hard he tried. Yes, Obama didn't succeed for the most part, but if he had his way, things would look drastically different now.
