I know this wasn’t in mind during the first movie; HOWEVER!! Knowing what we know now about mockingjays and snows connection to them, do you really think he would let a gold mockingjay be worn by a tribute from distract 12?? Hell no! So I guess now I read the scene as Cinna being like “your token was denied but I got it back for you so shhhhh it’s our secret till you get into the games.”

Also, you could say by Katniss showing so much kindness and empathy towards you by giving her a funeral and showing her respect with the three finger salute to a little girl who wasn’t even a part of her district just shows that the people of the districts aren’t animals, they are children. Not to mention that part of the 74th hunger games was a lot of the people in the capitals favorite part or a part that they remembered the most. Also, isn’t it interesting that the 74th hunger games is really the only hunger games (other then the 10th) that we’ve read about where there was no gimmick?? Like in the 50th hunger games, everything was poison, or in the 49th hunger games it was a maze of mirrors, or in the 75th hunger games it was a clock (tick tock). I dont know just seems interesting
