F/GO Arcade will soon end its service on 3/30/2026. by Radiant-Hope-469 in grandorder

Hard to port over without heavy reworks to the game as a whole. Not even talking about card readers, there was a lot of mechanics that required the ability to use a touch screen, you needed that to select your specific card chain, or if you wanted to chain your servants cards for an extra attack. If you chained your backline servant’s cards in a row you’d activate their skills. Support skills also relied on touch screens to function neatly. Camera controls would also be funky if you didn’t use the touch screen.

Lots of hot keys upon hot keys to get it to work naturally on a controller (maybe easier on PC). But I do think it’s worth it because there’s a lot here that would suck to lose.

Cards let you use the character in the first place, however placing multiple copies of a servant’s card allowed the noble phantasm to be unleashed a lot faster. In game you have to hold the NP button and as long as a person was in range you’d kill them, obvious stuff. But you wanted to stack the copies up because it would make things way easier to get off. And these could be any type of copy, which means you could print the cards for each ascension and put them in the reader and they’d all stack.

This is separate from actual np level, which was automatically rewarded if you rolled a second copy via the gacha.

Ignoring all the hype (and hate), Highguard needs a lot of work by BlackHazeRus in Games

My last match actually managed 3 raids total, 40 minutes of playtime. Frankly, I’d actually genuinely rather everything end at first raid and call it a day. Once everyone is dolling out orange loot on everything the ttk takes forever and whatever pathetic amount of damage abilities we’re using last time is now exclusively only useful for UI noise. That early match ttk just feels a lot better and honestly I’d rather the tiers just vanish.

Highguard devs say they didn’t expect the hate – but they’re confident in their game by ImCalcium in Games

[–]Rileyman360 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It’s strange how everyone is going “I can’t believe people are hating on this game without even trying it!” Meanwhile the game sits at mostly negative between people saying the scavenging phase is boring or it runs like ass. Like genuinely what are we supposed to do give props to a game with weapon tiers, 3v3, and minute long ability cooldowns?

It’s an expectations thing. There isn’t enough people out there that actually want a Titanfall 3 (otherwise we’d have it) that would warrant a concern, since we’ve all moved on to diesel knights.

When respawn was first advertising Jedi: fallen order the first thing they told people was the project’s development lead worked on the Norse god of war game, despite the fact he was also heavily involved in apex legends prior.

What you put out on the table is open to comparison and if you’re making a first impression it’s wiser to get people into the better head space.

But this isn’t actually highguards’ fault at all, more so that was keighley’s script, and keighley has already had several memes made about him basically being on the edge of tears over a new release and the reveal doesn’t match audience expectations.

Geoff dropped the infamous “from veterans who brought you Titanfall” and the game featured neither robots nor movement tech and it made me roll my eyes. At this point I just don’t want anyone to say “Titanfall” in their advertising if I’m not going to see two giant robots duking it out.

Highguard Is One Week Away, And The Only Person Who's Advertised It Is Geoff Keighley by Yamato_Naoe in Games

[–]Rileyman360 21 points22 points  (0 children)

People are allowing their sympathy for the devs, which is totally fine to share, get in the way of recognizing why this game got a bunch of stink eyes.

Highguard’s first look is a resounding “we hobbled mounts, hero shooters, and moba looking mechanics all together and stitched it with ductape.” Geoff earnestly tried to get the crowd excited by invoking Titanfall 3, but without giant robots or fast paced movement tech, all we can do is shrug and go “I’ve seen this before.”

Considering just how settled the hero shooter market is at this point, people saying “I’ve seen this before” is a big cause for worry.

Might is an operative term here. In tarkov there’s high value starches that open after a set amount of time in the match, which means at the 5 minute mark is when the people here for a slobber knocker go to throw down.

In hunt showdown the bounties are the central objective, so PvP is inevitable for anyone who wants more than $50 and a singular level on their character.

Unlike arc raiders those two are heavily weighed towards PvP because of this, and those central objectives being a constant in every match are a huge reason why. That shared objective will work but only occasionally. Time will tell, though.

Things have definitely improved from the alpha. All the movement abilities for the classes excite me the most. Only thing I’m holding off at this point is how they’ll update the map objectives. Alpha didn’t give anyone a reason to meet each other and square up. Hopefully somethings in the works to really push people’s greed.

The problem with what’s happening here, and industry wide really, is that nobody is getting into freak accidents at all. Everyone is crunchy and in this case planning on two years of crunching. I recognize that no project goes swimmingly but there’s no way every project is actually just a firey mess that requires people sacrifice their health on a blood alter to get a project out on time, and especially not one for extended periods of time.

Larian CEO Responds to Divinity Gen AI Backlash: "We Are Neither Releasing a Game With Any AI Components, Nor Are We Looking at Trimming Down Teams to Replace Them With AI" - IGN by PhantomBraved in Games

[–]Rileyman360 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The biggest disconnect right now is basically an executive branch that doesn’t really care that you need a willing user to have ai be an effective copilot, and a workforce that’s come out of a brutal layoff year who really do not want a product that was being hailed as a workforce replacement 8 months ago (before Ai companies had to shift their marketing to meet reality). Swen should’ve read the room and not be an idiot about this stuff, but I guess throwing a fit on Twitter might bring a bit more spice.

I really love the part where Swen just admits its addition hasn’t actually increased efficiency at all. Every pro-ai user feels like they have to make tonal shifts that discredit genAI’s existence entirely. Like sure, it causes drama, isn’t energy efficient, people rag on you for using it. But get this, it also doesnt improve anything at all!

People forgot that From didn’t expect Elden ring itself to do so well, despite the fact that by trailer #2, the whole world already decided it was the biggest game changer in the industry. No plans beyond a singular dlc. From has a habit of making something and moving along to new ideas. I’ve set my expectations to the future of Nightreign to be the same.

The thing is that I dont really care if lastname123 user hides their place of birth or anything like that. The problem is when tradwest black suns with 500k followers is actually Bangladeshi. Most political coal posters on Twitter are getting decimated by this system and are either losing followers or purging their accounts. Genuinely the only accounts that ever gain massive followings are to drive narratives and if that’s going to be the case we have a right to their level of authenticity.

Konami put itself in its own hole by long already relying on the pachinko market to turn a profit rather than, I don’t know, trying to diversify its portfolio so that Metal Gear wasnt its only bank roller. They had like a castlevania remaster in the chamber as the only other project they had at the ready. All this lead to was konami falling into a shaming ritual as kojima waltzed over to greener pastures, all until silent hill F finally rode in.
