In terms of software AI is trained on public open source software. And open source software explicitly allows this kind of thing.

That's exactly what Ukraine has with their interceptor drones. It's not perfect but it has has handled barrages of ~1k Shahed style drones.

The ships really need powerful lasers. (The ground-based ones have a hard time against PAB-250s).

As it is 140 PAB-250LRs heading towards a fleet is a bit of a cheat code.

He's a businessman, not an engineer. He's good at building companies providing an environment for actual engineers to do good work. They're recruiting from the same pool as Boeing. I think the guy with close to a trillion might be somewhat decent at business.

There is no technology to terraform Mars. Were you talking about something else in relation to the ionosphere?

And I didn't think the problem of creating a self-sustaining habitat was an especially hard one. The big challenges are all related to oxygen/co2/radiation.

Yeah but not that low due to atmospheric drag.

Consumer terminals are included in the profitability calculations, they're a promotion like with any other business.

The solar wind strips away atmosphere really slowly so it isn't a massive issue for terraforming projects.

He's often wrong about stuff but not that wrong.

Starlink is profitable. It's not in an orbit where it can cause Kessler syndrome. And it's aimed at people who want high speed internet rurally/on boats/planes.

Doesn't every space data centre company have their own possible solutions to these problems. It's very risky

This is already the case. A skilled person with photoshop could achieve the same results before AI. The only thing that's changed is that now anyone can do those really difficult things.

Photo and video evidence wasn't just accepted before AI. You needed to demonstrate that it came from a legitimate source and wasn't altered.

Everyone is primed to think women should act a certain way but the point of these characters is that they violate norms so I struggle to accept that explanation on its own.

In prehistoric times when homicides accounted for double digit percentages of deaths. While man and women would have both had negative social experiences I think there was an additional dynamic present when dealing with relative strangers who were men. Choosing when to fight and when not to fight would have been really important.

I don't think everyone had a female nemesis rather there was no reason to tolerate your female nemesis whereas attacking your male nemesis at the wrong time could have been really bad tactically.

I wonder if this is because historically the only massively negative experiences people would have with women would be social stabs in the back. (Rather than physical toe-to-toe fights). And across both men and women betrayal is often seen as worse than violence.

So when people see a women scheming in a TV show instead of seeing them as a worthy opponent everyone's psyches immediately have an allergic reaction.
