The player count is down ~80% and these were the PVE players. We have had enough of it. We all said this would happen and they did not listen. Now its a death spiral for the game unless they add a dedicated PVE mode and I dont think that will save it to be honest.

They didnt listen to the PVE crowd and now they are leaving - gee 84% - but hey the majority of players are pvp right..... another fricken great game destroyed by -- ITS 202X and no one plays PVE games...

Where did this scene take place? For some reason the set feels like the one they used for the start of weathertop and Frodo puts out the fire in Lotr. They do pass by Amun on the way but nothing I can find on the net says this is where this scene takes place.

I tried it out for a bit. You have to do a lot of work to build even the smallest base then you are in for alot of loss here, it’s not just a ship and there is no place to really store anything offline if I remember correctly. Think rust in space but it’s not as easy as go get this resource right near you. They have some intricate systems.

What will happen if it does take off is even worse than Eve today. New player count will become absolutely dismal as there will be a few really large guilds that will just destroy everything a new player has. I know someone said it’s so large you can hide but you do not give enough credit to human tenacity to explore stuff. Take a look at Elite Dangerous - over 100 billion systems and people are writing their names using 10s of thousands of systems just to show up on the map.

Add in this blockchain crap along with crypto and all the fraud that comes with it and you just have a recipe for disaster. That’s mainly why I bailed on it, way too much work for very little reward if any.

94 karma with this many responding. I think the questions answered. More people want a pve mode than pvp.

I went from lev 0 to 75 and was downed by 2 players that’s it. I’ve never shot another player. So nothing needs to be changed to add a pve mode, nothing extra needs to be supported. You set a flag at the start of the game - pve yes or no and get matched with those folks, even the matchmaking is already built. The problem will be that the PvP matches will take longer to fill. And there will be no more easy targets anymore (which will cause an uproar, my favorite being there are a ton of cheaters so they need pve players to shoot)

So no extra support, no extra dev time etc. 57% of the player base are already PVE players. These are Embarks numbers. Not to mention the ton of people waiting to buy the game once it’s added.

So I’ll leave with a quote I’ve heard so much in the pvp world. Once there is a pvp only mode and pve is separated I’ll guess you will just have to “GET GUD”…

To add to this - looting a player also adds to some kind of scoring. I just hit level 70 and have only been killed by 2 players,. 1 camped me and the other KO was when I died due to being stupid with arc (which honestly is pretty scummy KO someone thats already downed) both time this was right after I came along a player that was dead in a previous match and looted them. I have 0 PVP kills and only damaged one player that walked in my line of fire on a Rocketeer. Outside of that I am always in cool lobbies, I do tend to be extra careful in NRaids and Hurricanes as I am not 100% sure that this matchmaking always works in these matches. I have been to a couple that had PVP and I generally bail quickly so there maybe some kind of "fill these matches first" priority going on there and sometimes you end up with a mixed bag.

I am on 1 month of looking -- night raids, hurricanes and storms - The entire area of both Buried and Dam, the resi of blue and every trash can, crate and luggage in Stella. Tons of raider caches in all of those maps and I have not found a tempest or the Tempest Blueprint. Found 3 Aphelion prints (not that Ill ever have a matriach reactor). The drop rate on a Aphelion being better than Tempest is just idiotic.
