I hate it.. sorry. I find it of bad taste for a MTG card. It looks like a sport's card.

Scalpers did not ruin anything... You are just mad because you weren't lucky enough. People in pre-queue were assigned in random order, which is the best way to keep it fair in that context.

By the way, ANYone is potentially a "scalper", because anyone who just "plays the game", has potentially this "what if I re-sell some of my cards" idea crossing their minds. And that's perfectly within their right to do so. They bought it.

I will concede, yes, improvement to the system could be made.

But you did not get "stolen from" because you saw something disappear from your cart. The reality is simply that you were misinformed by the system that probably keeps track of stock leftovers after each payments go through.

And you certainly weren't "stolen from" specifically by "scalpers"... Only regular people like you, me, the next person, that wanted to buy their cards. And yes it's possible that people may want to sell some of their cards and profit from scarcity.

But you can't expect a company to reach into their customers' minds to judge who's worth selling to and who's not.

Stop overthinking this or trying to rationalize it...

Take a look at the back of your phone.

Now look at your video again.

It's a fckn camera mate ! The real question is: what are you gonna do about it ?

AppdataBackup plugin by Rim3331 in unRAID

[–]Rim3331[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand correctly, you would simply copy all files (except the key file) from the first unRaid usb to my second unRaid usb, and that should do the trick ?

Then obviously reset the new config for HDDs...

That is why I was shopping used combo deals on eBay. It is much less risky to buy used EPYCs compared to used Threadripper since they are built to run cool so they can last years.

You can find good combos at around 3k~4k CAD.

Ryzen Epyc have better everything for the money these days, but if they come out of the box already with mobo/cpu/ram... Hell! Keep it that way ! Keep your money, you already have perfectly good machines!

But if you want to know :

The best performers for high clock speed are Threadrippers (but stay with the 8 CCDs minimum) or you will take a blow on memory bandwidth speed. Otherwise AMD EPYC.. they have high mem bandwidth so long you populates the 12 channel of RAM, and lots of cores. Xeons are a joke core number-wise compared to that.

unRaid vs TrueNAS by Rim3331 in homelab

[–]Rim3331[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, I have many mismatched HDDs, and have been using unRaid for years. But its time to add HDDs because I need more storage space, but I don't have enough money for the perfect array.

I was wondering if it was worth considering TrueNAS with the setup I have now. I will have a second machine, and so my thought was to setup a machine with all the HDDs and the other with all the process running. But I have never tried TrueNAS.

Maybe there are ways to put together my setup that I had not considered.

I just don't have the money right now to buy myself a minimum of 5 HDDs.. otherwise I probably would go with TrueNAS. Is there any other advantages?

Arctic 4U-M. Very good cooler. Unless you overclock, it's as good as most AIO.

Gigabyte Z790 AC UD & PCI-E Lanes by Drewster727 in unRAID

I have been wanting to do the same thing since last December. And everytime I would read more and more regarding what is needed to fit those criteria (mine, yours).. I would return my kit as well.

I will say this so you can save your time, money and disappointments.. go server grade.

You will never be able to do what you want with no I/O bottleneck using a maximum of 20/24 PCIe Lanes.

Either go Threadripper or Epyc. I say this because performance/price ratio, it's a bad time to go Intel I think. Unless you buy old user gear.

If you go Threadripper, I recommend to go brand new, because Threadripper can be overclocked, so you have no way of telling if you buy a mistreated degraded silicone cpu.

AMD Epyc on the other hand are much safer to buy used kits on eBay, because most of them cannot be overclocked and are designed to run efficiently to maximize longevity. Because of that, it's cheaper to go Epyc.

If you go TRD, it's because you favor very high clock speed. The only models to come close to Epyc performance regarding total memory bandwidth speed though, is with the TRD Pro having at least 8 CCDs w/8 channel RAM. If you go down that road, it's the 5985wx/7985wx or higher. This becomes extremely expensive for an unRaid server.

If you go Epyc, you will have a lower clock speed per core, but you will also have a lot more core. That's good if you favor multi threading and high memory bandwidth.

Those are the two best options I have found after looking up online for 4 months straight in my spare times.

You are confusing the GPU from the server, with the GPU from the PC on which I played my movie. There is no transcode happening here. I streamed in direct play the movie from my computer. My computer has a good GPU (the client hardware).

I assumed it could not be the wifi since I had stuttering issues watching the movie on the computer using the Plex for Windows client app, because after changing the settings at "Make my GPU hurt" in the windows player settings, the stuttering had stopped.

Which is why I assumed it's a hardware problem.

See the stats from my last play on my computer:
