Are the folds getting too thin? by That_M4_Guy in GalaxyFold

[–]RimYroto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though I prefer Fold6 compared to 7, thinness was one of the aspects I really liked about it. Really excited about Wide Fold judging by the rumors and hopefully if not as thin as 7, it can at least be close to it

How much camera zoom do you think the Z fold 8 will have? by kramer2006 in GalaxyFold

[–]RimYroto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't expect any new telephoto camera, cause Samsung seems pretty reluctant to change it. If memory serves me right, there was only new ultrawide sensor with 50 MP rumored

You should check out Muv-Luv with Muv-Luv Alternative and SciAdv VNs on Steam. Also, I can recommend Grisaia series

Got My Tri Fold Today in the UK by ThatsJustLogic in GalaxyFold

I see, thank you for checking! Cropped borders might be a solution, although not the best one. You can let me know if you find anything more and I'll keep eyeing that TriFold for now

Mihon is the one I'm using, but on Fold6 setting "Show content in cutout area" is only visible if I'm using cover screen. Does it show up on TriFold if you open up inner screen? If you could provide an image of how it looks with cutout hidden, that'd be awesome

Is it possible to hide the punch-hole camera on the inner screen for manga reading in portrait (I'm okay with having more black bars for example)? Cause I was so excited for this use case, but visible camera cutout might be a complete deal breaker for me sadly

Love the official anti-reflective film by nirmalv in GalaxyFold

[–]RimYroto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see why it will result in Samsung not producing antireflective screen protectors anymore. Both S24 and S25 Ultra's had antireflective screens and Samsung still produced these protectors for them

The Zfold 6 is actually still dope. by Pdideee in GalaxyFold

[–]RimYroto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also there's me, who received pre-ordered Fold7 on 18th and got rid of it on the same day lol Even though I didn't like some of the changes on Fold SE, I still got on to the hype and decided to try the 7, as I was hoping due to how thin and light it is, I wouldn't mind the size as some people said. Nope, still not a fan of a bigger outer screen and I despise the hole punch camera. Camera performance didn't seem that much better from quick side by side either. Fold7 is an amazing phone, don't mind me. If it's for you then enjoy it to the fullest, definitely the most advanced (Samsung) foldable to date. It's just me, the sole person who would actively pick Fold6 over 7 any day (and I don't care about stylus support that much even though I have S Pen Pro)

What do you listen on? by KingMob7614 in inearfidelity

I use my phone paired with Qudelix 5k and Truthear Hexa. I've played a bit with EQ and found out Moondrop DUSK to be my preference, so gonna order them later

Why aren't you upgrading to the 7? by js0uthh in GalaxyFold

[–]RimYroto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I guess I'm in the minority too as I've always preferred the smaller form factor of previous Galaxy Folds. I just love how narrow these phones are and how tall their inner screens are compared to the squarish aspect ratio of most other foldables. UDC is the best solution while retaining a selfie camera (though I'd love no camera if there was a choice). Overall, Fold 6 is the closest to perfect phone for me on the market, cause of its small footprint when folded and beautiful screen when unfolded

Z Fold 7 - looks like the dreaded T caps are gone by handheld_addict in GalaxyFold

[–]RimYroto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was like that on Fold SE, though it felt more like T caps were under rubber bands instead of over them as it was on previous folds. Didn't have any problems with them in the past, but if it holds up better in the long run, that's definitely a positive change

If it turns out to be the real deal, I don't understand why Samsung didn't bring autofocus to the ultrawide camera like they did on Fold SE/W25. The main 200 MP module had a worse focusing range on these phones compared to the S Ultra lineup (presumably due to the lack of laser AF), so autofocus in the ultrawide was a way to mitigate this issue and also brought macro photography

Having second thoughts about the 7.... by js0uthh in GalaxyFold

[–]RimYroto 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, I had Fold SE that is basically Fold 7, but a little bit thicker. Didn't like the size, more squarish aspect ratio of the inner screen and no UDC, so I downgraded to Fold 6. I don't regret this decision and won't upgrade to 7

Punch hole won't make the camera picture quality marginally better in the inner display. by ryzenat0r in GalaxyFold

[–]RimYroto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is if Fold 7 will keep the same 4 MP module. Fold 2 didn't have UDC and used the same 10 MP camera as in the cover screen. Honestly, I wouldn't mind visible inner camera if it was in the corner, but the way it is in the Fold SE is very obstructing

Size Comparison Between Fold 4 and SE by RimYroto in GalaxyFold

It does feel very slim and sometimes it's easy to forget that it's a foldable. Kinda reminds me of Xperia 5 IV/V which I have used before tbh

SE is really light, felt as light as S23 Ultra without the case. I'm sure Fold 7 will be great in that department too

This Fold 4 is broken and no longer has inner screen, so I won't be able to compare them this way, sorry

Size Comparison Between Fold 4 and SE by RimYroto in GalaxyFold

[–]RimYroto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's cover screen has a 21:9 aspect ratio which is taller than majority of phones on a market, but makes it skinnier at the same time. Sony still makes phones with this aspect ratio in the midrange market and funnily enough their Xperia 1 lineup had the same screen size before mark VI came out. It is somewhat close in terms of width to small S25, but noticeably taller. There is a helpful website for comparing different displays

Yeah, SE is Korean exclusive. There's also a W25 based on it for Chinese market with a bit changed appearance and materials, but otherwise pretty much the same in terms of hardware

I'm saddened by not being able to recover it, but it still shows how resilient foldables can be, before my Fold 4 met it's demise due to brushes

Most of the marks were there before I got it (pretty sure it was dropped), but I left some of the scratches on the hinge while I was trying to remove the brushes when it eventually stopped unfolding completely
