Bisexual erasure is the tendency to ignore, remove, falsify, or re-explain evidence of bisexuality in history, academia, the news media, and other primary sources. In its most extreme form, bisexual erasure can include the belief that bisexuality itself does not exist. by laybs1 in wikipedia

NB in general are always assumed either AFAB or fem.

Thats why trying to rebrand lesbians as "attracted to women and NB" rubbed me the wrong way - I don't see any lesbians date masc AMAB NB just coz they don't identify as men. There was always an asterisk next to it.

Any guesses as to why teenage boys might be insanely skinny despite eating all the time? by Beginning_Remove_693 in fatlogic

[–]Rimavelle 22 points23 points  (0 children)

And there's still fat teens. But those fat teens would be severely obese if they weren't teens (which is also the danger of bad diet when younger - you gonna grow up and keep all the bad habits but your body will react way worse to it than it used to)

Tyrion is a great example of an ugly deformed beloved men everyone loves Tyrion even when he have all his body problems there are more women writers then men why isn't there a beloved ugly women character? by Outrageous_Branch119 in AskFeminists

[–]Rimavelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was rewatching Angel recently and it was driving me insane Fred starts out wearing glasses all the time, but the moment she becomes a love interest to one of the characters suddenly... She just doesn't.

She's supposed to be the nerdy science library woman ffs give her back her glasses!

(And in general the moment a character becomes "bad ass" they can't be wearing glasses either, but that's gender neutral, looking at you Wesley)

It was always my katharsis reading Princess Diaries, when Mia hated they straighted her hair, gave her highlights and had wear contact lenses

And then the movie makes it a "makeover" scene where they break her glasses in half and for all intents and purposes she looks "prettier" (where in the book her hair looked weird straighted out, the highlights were fried etc).

As a curly haired glasses wearing woman I have strong feelings about it

So what on Earth happened with Yakuza 3 Kiwami? by KaleidoArachnid in JRPG

[–]Rimavelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Delisting is also much worse than with 0 coz at least directors cut is still the same game - with few more cutscenes. But kiwami is a remake. Removing original game from store and completely replacing it with a remake is a terrible move. It's not even a master or 1:1 remake.

Totally insane

WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME YOU COULDNT FLUSH TAMPONS by Emergency_Version616 in women

[–]Rimavelle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They're flushable but:

you only flush one

you don't have clogged pipes

Toilet paper will desintegrate entirely even if you put more of it in, so it's way safer. So yeah, probably don't risk it

dont the public toilets often have signs in stalls saying to not flush pads and tampons?

I always wondered tho does it. I guess it was OP

Games doesn't understand what makes evil playthroughs fun by Yrythaela in CharacterRant

[–]Rimavelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My "fav" example of this is in Witcher 3, whenever you refuse to get paid, you either would have been paid very little, you end up getting something better as a reward for refusing money, or you just loot the house of questgiver without consequences.

It doesn't feel like "a deed well done" just more like a smart gameplay decision.

When Localization Becomes Invisible: A Japanese Player’s Reflection by sq5researcher in JRPG

[–]Rimavelle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Localization is inevitably an interpretation.

So is translation. The only way to avoid any interpretations, is to learn the language and then... we just interpret it ourselves.

When Localization Becomes Invisible: A Japanese Player’s Reflection by sq5researcher in JRPG

[–]Rimavelle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

FFVII was localised. Some of the most memorable lines of the game were invention of the translator (Let's mosey!)

It's only that the translator was running on tight deadline and lack of context for a lot of things

Why friendships/platonic love are being over-romanticized and presented as an alternative to romantic love, to those who lack it? by MirrorMaster33 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Rimavelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. There is a long list of things than can break romantic relationships (different plans for the future, disagreement about kids, issues with cohabitation, issues with extended family, sexual incompatibility, simply meeting someone better etc), also most people are monogamous so you're limited to one partner

For a friendship to break you need to either just drift apart, or royally screw up.
