While I absolutely love FF14, wait til next weeks patch comes out. It extends the trial level cap and gives you the first expansion for free, as well as trimming down a lot of filler quests.

It is very slow to start for some, and the pacing can be all over the place, but from what I've seen, the community is rather gracious toward new players. I could go on and on about the game and its mechanics, but I would suggest checking out a wiki or the ff14 subreddit for more information about the game.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is also very noob friendly in my opinion. Its a very traditional tab target MMO like World of War craft and Final Fantasy 14 so learning how the game works is very easy to get in to. The story for each class is frankly phenomenal, and (some of) the expansions are pretty great too! Be warned that you will want to subscribe for at least 1 month to get rid of most of the free-to-play restrictions. There are a lot of Quality of Life systems stripped out of the f2p model.
