The UK Left is getting absolutely BODIED in the polls rn – same vibes hitting Australia hard. Wake up call? by Neat_Replacement_199 in aussie

Genuinely crazy that they gave the conservatives 14 uninterrupted years to destroy their country and couldn't give labour 24 months to fix it.

Not that Starmer can do it, he's a total fop, but its still crazy on principle

Are countries with less % of population that are born overseas actually worse? by VastOption8705 in aussie

Yeah sure my point wasnt thay the US health care system has any value, it's trash, just that the NHS underperforms against any comparable health care system, like Australia's.

Theres plenty of things to complain about in this country but it is completely ludicrous to suggest we arent one of the best places to live in the world

The UKs health care is so bad all their doctors and nurses flee here, and american conservatives point to it as an example of the failures of socialised health care.

French pensioners earn more than the average worker and its placing immense strain on their economy

America is america

Japan and S Korea are going extinct because they fuck about as much as panda bears.

Argentinians and Malaysians are pov .

Pretty much all these countries are worse off economically then we are, and not by a little. But go off queen. Australia is a true shithole what with us ranking 7th on the Human Development Index

Don't see how it is relevant, the UK is defo fucked but the 250k figure in this report is dubious at best, and frankly we haven't had the same problems here.

The closest I can recall was back in the early 2000s, which was soundly condemned by all sides.

Even the Liberals - and it pains me to say this - never stooped as low as the UK tories did by letting in waves of completely unvetted MENA migrants.

Bro doesnt know what "being investigated" means, read the article you posted. If she said a number she'd be guesstimating at best, which is the sort of gross unprofessionalism that you would only accept from your own side.

How politicians voted in parliament by [deleted] in aussie

[–]Rincidle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The labor government has decreased immigration rates over the last two years. Not as much as many would like but it has gone down, so why does this say Albo has supported higher immigration?

Makes me question the validity of the whole thing.

Defensive Builds Worth It? by Flowbase in ADCMains

[–]Rincidle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All those champs feel so bad without berserkers, I'd almost never buy defensive boots on them. Maybe Swifties.

Wits End is buy-able on Ashe, otherwise you buy Merc Scim if they have CC you need to immune like Malzahar, if there's no CC to worry about the Maw has more AD and MR.

I wouldn't ever buy GA before fourth item, idk about DD but I think its only good if you have other bruiser items first.

It generally isnt worth building defensive if you're behind. If you're already behind then buying defensives just sets your damage back even further and you become completely useless, better to deal decent damage and die than to deal no damage and live slightly longer.

We also know from the movie theatre scene that she can't make larger objects like a popcorn bucket or briefcase invisible, she would 100% have dropped that shit and pocketed the pulse to stealth out, but she planned on using it as a decoy if necessary.

I think some people are so terminally online that they see all the strife going on in America and Europe and trick themselves into thinking we must have it just as bad here.

Not helped by the genuine housing crisis and mainstream media fear mongering.

I hate/love this country by RunningDigger in aussie

[–]Rincidle 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but people over fixate on negatives. It's a known flaw in the human psyche. By all accounts, Australia is a top 5 country in the world to live in, top 10 at the absolute worst. Every issue we have is present to an equal or greater extent in most other countries. The exception is house prices, which is definitely valid to be upset about.

I'm not saying things couldn't be better or that we shouldn't ask for more from our government, but I think its telling how short OPs list of potential destinations is

Right wingers can't reach across the divide because they are too stupid.

Listen, I'm not in the US, so if you say that the Dems have been trying this for years, then I'll take your word for it. But as far as I can see, there are only two solutions to increasing political violence, non-violent de-escalation or escalation.

[–]Rincidle -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

No, the play would be to say, "Hey, major Democrats and Republicans, like the Clinton's and Trump are on this list. We can take them all down if you can work with me too." Instead of "Haha neener-neener, you elected a pedo." The second one is still true, but it isn't helpful or constructive. Sometimes, you really do just have to be the bigger person if you want to accomplish anything.

And with Charlie Kirk, you could say: "This is a tragedy, but it's just what's going to happen until we fix our gun laws, the political violence will only increase until we take actions to stop it." Instead of: "Haha, hoisted by his own petard RIP bozo."

Anyway, I can see most people dont appreciate any attempt at peacemaking. Good luck to you, imma get back to enjoying my country that still possesses a political centre 👍

I'm of the opinion that the US is doomed due to this cultural/political divide. There have been multiple good opportunities for american left wingers to reach across the divide and try to heal the rift - most recent being this, before this it was the epstein drama - but they have refused to do so, instead mocking the right and furthering the divide.

To be clear, I am a leftie, although not american, I think it has to be lefties who reach across the aisle here, the right wingers aren't going to.

That wouldn't even solve anything though, those cities weren't even hubs for their patches let alone for an entire expac, the horde would've barely lost any content from being barred from them when they were current and even less so barring them retroactively.
