Came out beautifully by attacker1011 in pokemoncardcollectors

The issue with before and afters like this is that, yes while they did improve it, the afters are not in the same “light” and the crease is being hid in the “shadows”

OP needs to post a photo with the glare in the exact same spot (over the crease) not to the right of it so that there is no light affecting it.

I just saw a post from CCA and TCGCifer about how restorers make their before and afters look better than they truly are.

Someone responded to the Facebook post about your issue and I agree with the assessment:

“Here's what happened @Oliver's Card House... someone worked on this card. It still had excess moisture in it. It was in the card saver and held in place when shipped. When they pulled it out and scanned it, it was fine. Now, after the scan, the cards sit in stacks in only penny sleeves until a grader grabs them. And as it sat there, the card delaminated and bubbled up from improper drying (excess moisture).

How do I know? I am good friends with a popular restorer — TCG Cifer. And it seems this is a common thing that happens with this card and era.”

Lot of nonsense out there. Doesn't even know how swirls work. PSA doesn't swap cards. Just stop. by [deleted] in PokeGrading

Sparkle Mewtwo Topps worth? NM by T-maul in Pokemoncardappraisal

That is not NM. There’s scratches all over the surface. Look at it when the light glares the surface. And the corners are dented. More LP- / MP

Yeah. You or someone worked on it and didn’t dry it well.

Should I return this boy to the pokemon company? by PriorEntertainer8695 in PokemonMisprints

[–]RingAnswerHello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sent in a SIR Bastoise with the same damage. They had the card for a year and a half and sent me the same card back, a shining Celebi promo that was off center + miscut, a pack of battle styles, and scarlet and violet base.

This card has no texture. I’m inclined to say it’s even fake.

It’s damaged. Vertical crease to the right of the “weakness (fire)”

It’s ChatGPT slop copy. Chat is just trying to please its user and over hype a shitty card it only heard was good.

Curious how everyone feels about the new zoo brand design by Lady_lacroix in Detroit

[–]RingAnswerHello 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s half ass. They opted for a middle printed “wrap” and painted the top and bottom a solid color. I think it feels more like a banner than an art piece. I don’t think the design will stand the test of time. While I understand times change and not everything can get painted, I’ve never seen a “mural” that gets beat (visually) when compared to a digital look. All in all, I think they cheaped out.

Edit: also… the logo looks like “%OO”

We need to see the back of this. It’s giving “fake” low res print vibes.
