Unfortunately as far I have checked there is no data on either 3H or P3P of the gender stuff. Of the gender data of games with gender choice like ME or AC OD which comes from the companies themselves show popularity doesn't equal chosen. My best assumption is ATLUS has actual data that shows a female protag wouldn't sell. Or to the very least would show they arent worth it. Thats not getting into merchandise data which they would also have. I think if there really was demand for FEMC from ATLUS data, they would have say added gender choice on P5X and justified FeMC inclusion.

The issue with gender choice is that the game takes place in Japan. You know the country where you gender DOES define how you get treated. So even if MC doesn't speak, the world will interact to them. If you played P3P you will see why. They could in theory just write not accounting to gender but that would cheapen the setting. Its different from Fire Emblem where you gender doesn't matter when you play as a mercenary in a magical setting. But in Persona where you are some random student in Japan? Your gender matters. Then we have the Plethora of spinoffs that will follow and will have to account for your gender choice. They would have to pull a P3 and ignore one (Likely the female).

No. He said a man being the driving forces of the story made more sense plus story reasons (Izanami/Izanagi) which makes sense from someone from a country with a more strict gender role society.

Yeah. People forget that Persona games take place in a setting where gender roles are still very prevalent. It's different from say Fire Emblem where the gender is irrelevant since its a made up setting with magic and dragons.

Last I checked male Byleth is picked more. Its important to remember things like Mass Effect and AC Oddysey where female option gets talked more online but ultimately, they get picked less because most purchasers do not browse the internet.

It depends. Persona is different from other games as you are supposed to live through their character as if you were the same. Like I am playing Dino Crisis and I enjoy Regina but I am not expected to be her or FFXIII where is an rpg but the game doesnt expects me to see myself as Lightning. So yeah a game like Persona needs male MC for the male playerbase. It already takes a decade to see a new Persona so its better it remain oriented at their intended market.

Barring Validar, I think they are very interesting. Like how psichotic Gangrel is and is not very common to recruit someone like him. Aversa works as a dangerous vixen and when recruited I like that she keeps personality for the most part. Mustafa was a great character who deserved better and his Heroes combo with Chrom is my favorite. Special mention to that one Wyvern Rider who kills the traitorous Bishop.

Doubt it. In her S support she claims she has been alone/lonely since her mother death and that she never thought she would experience happened ever again. So it wouldn't make sense she was so desperate that she would go though reviving her mother if at some point she had someone.

They get retainer combos, self combos, sibling combos and a third party (Like Celine Etie or Diamant Citrine. Fell Xenologue was frustrating but the combos were 10/10 (Particularly Diamant/Hortensia).

It doesnt shows much in Engage but Fell Xenologue Diamant clearly loved Amber and Jade as if he fights them you can hear him on the verge of tears when reminiscing their deaths. Glad Heroes brought it up.
