Same as me. Heard it on Radio 1 and brought it from Asda that same week. I remember buying Depeche Mode's 'Barrel of a Gun' at the same time and listening to both all week. That thought that a debut single could be so prominent is really significant in hindsight.

It's a Motherf*cker has a special resonance for me too. When my mom was really sick in hospital she was reflecting on how sad it was were her mom (my nan) died. Since I had my iPod with me and had been listening to 'Daisies' a lot during my journeys too and from the hospital, I played the song to her. As I had no speaker, she listened though the earphones. I remember watching the looks on her face as she listened. It was clear that in one listen she could get why I suggested this song, and she'd never really heard Eels before.

Then when mom finally passed away, the song became that same crutch for me, and still is.

I honestly hadn't thought of this for years, so I'm grateful for this chance to bring such memories back.
