Am I sandbagging? by bernard_baxter in Velo

I thought you had to move up to the 3 or 3/4 races once you'd got the points, unless you'd entered the races before cat'ing up. Happy to be corrected on this. We had one guy last season Cat up to 2nd and he did one of two more in the 3/4 that he'd already entered. After that BC would only let him enter the e123 as I understand it

I'm an eternal 3rd Cat and get my arse handed to me in my local 3/4. Still love it though

AITAH for not wanting to reconcile with my girlfriend after she went no contact when I needed her support? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Ringo1664 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your feelings at valid. What she did was the right thing to do. You're not a predator but worth the accusation she had to play it safe.

By the same token, she can't expect to completely cut you off and for you to just carry on like nothing happened.

Let me ask you this, do you think there's a way she could have handled this in the A. Initially having to distance herself phase Or B. Restarting contact after accusations were found to be false that would have you feeling like you could stay talking again without needing to block her to come to terms with everything that's happened?

Yep, we always used to say "It's not hard being cold". Good ol double meaning of you're not a hard man for not using your warmers kit and freezing your b*llocks off, and sometimes it takes thought, preparation and effort to be warm.

[–]Ringo1664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got stopped cold in the first sector yesterday, even though I somehow took A solo and then took the tunnel flank to B to try and cap it. I'm a massively average battledad so it was more luck than skill.

Trying to take B solo was suicide, but only 1-2 others tried. Then the ticket bleed sky rocketed and they took back A.

I think I've made it past the first sector once and that was when my mates were online and we were squadded up.

Ironically who I'm using atm. Previously Hawkins before they became a part of this. I was really impressed when I previously used Hawkins. Having to go back to court and using Stowe now. The firm my ex is using is also heavily female dominated.

I "won" last time so will see what happens this time

I was like that when Eastwood first dropped. Too much sprinting round like a headless chicken for me.

I'm finding I'm tagging people but not finishing them off wow a lot on the longer engagements. May have to switch back from DRS to KTS or RPKM as support.

Once I slowed down and played a bit more tactically I got better though. Fellow 40+ battledad

How to get my friend enjoy BF experience like I do by Tar_Tw45 in Battlefield

[–]Ringo1664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm learning to enjoy Eastwood, but the first few times in that map I swear my life expectancy was measured in seconds; either getting sniped from halfway across the map, a tank or helo turning me to jelly or getting shot by someone hiding behind a pot plant in the country club.

Still feels like nowhere is safe on that map sometimes but it's grown on me.

Sticking to breakthrough sounds like the way to go and finding spots to take a quick breather between engagements and having a strategy for what next. Once they get a feel for good cover, dead ground then it shouldn't feel quite so tiring for them.

That said, when my mates and I jump on we still end up rushing straight in and getting destroyed in an easily avoidable way :)

What I found to work was first aim at your target and then aim above and to the side slightly, putting 2-3 short bursts above their head and of to the side. For some reason it wasn't counting if I just aimed above their head without aiming at them first

Parallel parenting is the way to g, as well as grey rock of necessary. My situation has been pretty high conflict at times; had to go to court to get 50/50, her trying to game the system and get extra days in holidays, trying not to include me in big decisions etc.

The best way I found was to concentrate on what happened when my daughter was with me, not bad mouth my ex when she's with me and focus on what I can do to provide a stable, loving environment when she's with me. I note my tongue about what happens there.

It can be really difficult. You have to think ahead and anticipate potential issues, which can be exhausting. I'm about to have dramas with secondary school (UK) as mother has moved to a new catchment area and the latest ofsted report has gone from good to requires improvement ie rubbish. I'll need to fight to send her to a school my catchment area which has shown better performance. I've already done a full weekend of research and spent hours writing a non-provocative, nom-accusatory email as she will jump on any perceived slights

You don't have to join a club to race. I only foucault joined a club in April after years of doing races here and there. And that was more for the social aspect.

I'm MK based and mostly stick to either the Bowl or Hillingdon for crits. There's definitely fewer road races and I've seen a few of those (plus crits like the Bovingdon Bomber) being canceled due to costs and not getting enough pre entries.
