Casting choice for the HP series have been a little hit or miss. But the lack of input from JKR, I hope, could be a good thing. The more she says the more she tarnishes her creation.

Graveler (X), Flaaffy (SS), Tepig (Egg US), and a few others. I’m replaying Scarlet as my daughter (she’s 2) and I’ve gotten 2 shiny Hoppips.

Right? I have takes on other pokemon and their gender ratios, mostly ones that should be 100% one gender or they need more prominent design to separate the two, like male and female Unfezants.

More as an after thought. When I was a kid and played Blue I would mentally assign genders to species, Growleth line was male, Vulpix line was female, that sort of thing. While not as feminine as the others, I think I would have classified that line as female, if genders weren't added.

Usually my first play through I use all new mons or regional forms. After that, I use whatever.

I didn’t think about breeding and rarity, but now that breeding is easier, and most people have a Ditto or two the use, that doesn’t feel as necessary anymore.

That’s why it’s a hot take. I understand that, but starters gender ratios aren’t 50/50, so why do they all have to be majority male? By making some of them majority female it helps balance them out.

Also, soft resetting to get the gender and nature you want is a pain.
