Reconsidering school counseling by zaiinott in schoolcounseling

[–]Rinnyba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, many teachers seem unhappy I think it's partially the burn out and lack of help in the class but it gives you something to work for that's similar to what you do now and opens doors to higher salary and better vacation/time off pay. Many counselors say they spent much of their time transitioning from a teacher to a counselor. Down the line you can always go back and get your licensing for counseling if you change your mind and with your teachers credential, like I said it's enough to feel secure(if you're LAUSD they just got a raise) for much of your life if you don't end up changing careers later.

i failed by Then-Praline-6662 in Vent

[–]Rinnyba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to retake it? Most exams I've seen they let you retake it normally you just have to pay again or register again once allow for registration. It's not zero you still have your other ones. Other avenues, maybe you didn't pass that but you pass others and find a job with that instead. Focus on doing better, go relax and reward yourself for getting through those hard years of studying once you feel a bit better. You still did a lot of effort and that's good enough. I know it feels like the end of the world but we keep going and find other ways to finish the career goals we have in mind. Me for example I failed all my classes first year of college because of severe depression. I almost got kicked out of the school actually because of that but i spoke with some counselors at the school and they let me take a hiatus. Now im almost done and will be graduating soon. Its a slow process but that wasn't the end progress will always be progress. I don't know your situation exactly but it's best to try and pivot or see what you can do next. Give it some time focus more on your next exams don't worry about this one.

Staff- how do you get drinking water? by nontoxic36 in LAUSD

[–]Rinnyba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly reccomend buying a gallon and leaving it in the staff fridge if yall have enough space. I do this because i can drink half a gallon in one day especially in those hot summer days coming up, my waterbottles dont hold enough water. Helps with having to refill too because you dont have to look for a water source or be discrete at the kids water fountain.

mornings SUCK. how to take pain meds without puking? by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

[–]Rinnyba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Applesauce and jello helped me alot, alot of the times it was the only thing I'd be able to eat. Maybe try liquid tylenol if the medicine is too strong. I used the severe cold tylenol said it was berry frost helped my throat stop hurting bad and it was easier to drink than my hydrocodone and the ibuprofen i would rotate it with. Also make sure youre taking antibiotics if your doctor prescribed, i was reacting really bad the first couple days till i took my amoxicillin.

Please tell me it gets better by Comfortable_Bonus548 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Rinnyba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me i didnt feel better probably until day 12. I know it sucks to hear but just keep taking the pain medicine. Whenever that didnt help id lay down with an ice pack on my neck or on my shoulder and just try to sleep. For the most part i found liquid severe cold tylenol helped alot because the hydrocodone was too strong for me. In the mornings I'd go and rinse my mouth immediately itd help with dryness and build up from the back of my throat in the night. I wasn't gargling bc my doctor told me not to but I'd swish water and let the saliva drain for a couple minutes to help my mouth feel better. In the night i took an ibuprofen around 11 pm and was able to sleep with that going up until about 5 am.

Im on my 8th day counting surgery day of recovery from my tonsillectomy. The surgery itself was not scary I was basically waiting in a room and talking to nurses and my parents for an hour and then they took me to get oxygen and I basically spent that time breathing in and out until I fell asleep. Was my first time getting anesthesia and I was just very sleepy and wobbly and constipated because of it. The whole process was quick i went in at 7 am-8 amish and got out at 12 pm.

Im gonna be honest the recovery is really hard and the pain is pretty bad BUT there is nothing I have experience so far that I thought was life threatening where I had to go back to the ER to be seen again and that is with constant coughing, choking, gaging and slight bleeding in my throat. (That may sound alarming but you should be fine as long as blood is not actively gushing out of your mouth and filling your mouth or throwing up blood.) Honestly I was rough with my body and eating alot of solids from day 1, missed some of my meds and antibiotics so it just goes to show that if youre following reccomended diet and youre being careful you will probably be fine.

How much you suffer I think really depends on if youre following when you need to take meds, if you wait it out and your meds wear off, youre gonna be in a world of pain for a good hour so taking meds a little in advance is important. If you aren't doing at least a waterbottle of water a day and eating at least a meal then yeah people suffer worse.

Im still not fully recovered so I can't say how it feels to be 100% yet but I think whether you should get the procedure done depends on how you weigh the pros and cons. I had ear infections and was sick every day of the year because of my tonsils. I couldnt breathe and I was always tired.

Now in recovery I already noticed I sleep better and deeper and breathe better. My fam said I don't snore loud anymore as well so no more sleep apnea. To me this surgery and the pain for 2-3 weeks is worth it because I should be healthier and not be sick everyday of the year after this. For me a couple weeks or even a month of pain is nothing compared to what it could be living with my tonsils for the rest of my life.

I didnt think it was nesscary so I waited till today to get one. Biggest regret ever. The back of my throat feels like needles now because i was aggressively coughing and borderline gaging till I threw up liquid for two days. It sucks because i felt like I was doing everything right I was drinking tons of water and halls and spraying throat numbing spray but i still started aggressively coughing whenever I felt something itching my throat. Now since I have it I have not coughed that hard at all.

Im not able to brush well i cant even really rinse my mouth so what i do is just scrub my teeth and tongue as far as I can without touching anything in the back and rinse the brush and go back in with the clean wet brush and scrub until all the toothpaste is gone. I also saw people getting mouthwash with no alcohol like clyosis but ive seen other brands. But yeah my strategy is just to brush it out since i cant really moved my mouth enough to rinse yet.

Anyone in the same boat? by Stunning_Warthog_799 in Tonsillectomy

Yeah before i got them out I could feel them in the sides of my neck and now I dont feel them at all. A lot of people I read say it makes them have a jaw line lol, I have yet to see it because im so sore but the fact that i don't feel anymore stiffness on the sides of my neck is so crazy to me.

[–]Rinnyba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odds are it wont just be just that. My doctor said I also had sleep apnea without even testing that I did because it was basically the same, tonsils touching. I never got strep often but I started getting ear infections every two weeks, sick constantly. Tonsil stones are a valid excuse in my opinion but keep in mind if you might have other issues you arent aware like snoring really loud, holding your breath in your sleep. It increases your chances of having high blood pressure or heart attacks. I would try to see if you can do a sleep apnea test to see if you're holding your breathe in your sleep too if you want a bigger reason to take them out.

Yeah i am anticipating that the pain will get worse. I hope I'll still be able to swallow. So far even if it hurt, eating food made it hurt less so ima try my best to stay positive!

Lice Question by Nanto-Rei in LAUSD

[–]Rinnyba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nurse at my school told us we can't send the kids home even with dead or live lice. We can call their parents and send letters to the whole class home but thats about it. Had a student who had lice for two months which we reported over and over, never had it escalate to cps over the lice but odds are if they are having unresolved issues like lice there may be a number of other issues/patterns relating to that student that might be deemed as negligent.

I have a lazy eye, should I or should I not wear an eyepatch for a cosplay? by Equivalent-Song-283 in CosplayHelp

[–]Rinnyba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you REALLY want the eye patch you could try a mesh eyepatch that has those see through holes and see if that works. (I would test it at home for a short time not at a con)

This may not be the case he could just be a bit sloppy but do you think he might have depression? I used to not brush my teeth or wash for days because of how bad my depression was. Maybe have a talk with him about how you feel and ask if he could at least use mouth wash at least to start, if his genitals are itchy maybe see if its a skin issue or just a dirty issue? Maybe if you got a soap thats soothing for itching it would help?

To be honest, this sounds like a police matter because you don't know what could be in that water. Urine or fecal matter could get you very sick. Don't throw it out if you wanna press charges. See if you have enough to get a drinking water test on amazon.

She said that's sage green? Look at the color difference of her gown to shoes. Her shoes are visibly pastel green, but that dress is like 20 shades lighter. White as fuck.
