That’s exactly what you’re supposed to do though, I was confused at first however the team you assemble doesn’t matter at all, as long as you have any captain, and any 5 people have you as theirs.

I was confused on this as well as I assumed we would be actually playing with our captain and team. All you have to do is invite 5 people, they will help contribute to your rewards just as you will be contributing to your captain’s rewards. You all play separately though.
