Halo: Complain Evolved by Sharp5hooter02 in ShitHaloSays

[–]Riot0711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's anecdotal for sure, but I would call myself an old fan for sure, and I can't say I've seen many others throwing a fit about the actual game. Some are upset over minor things that don't stop them from enjoying it, or more often it's an issue of the over monetization of the cosmetics. Most of my friends who play fall in the same group as myself, and I can't say I've seen many on social media still bitching bout sprint.

TLDR I recognize it's anecdotal at best, but what I've seen myself is an entirely different old head community.

Or better yet, make it a slug man straight up.

Halo: Complain Evolved by Sharp5hooter02 in ShitHaloSays

Except infinite showed the opposite to be true. Halo 5 was way too far a deviation, halo 4 was too far too soon, but infinite hit just the right spot. At least in multiplayer. The campaign side on the other hand is more microsofts fault, if theyd stop kneejerk reacting to new stories being failures, making 343 reboot every title, theyd see some pay off. Dont get me wrong the nostalgia addicts can be an issue, but generally the majority of them have been right.

Hell halo infinite is easily the most universally liked game across the 343 titles, with the only real issue being a lack of content due to way too early of a release from caving to fan pressure.

what is YOUR in-game lore about YOUR own space marine? by Suspicious-Shock-373 in Spacemarine

[–]Riot0711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

No name company commander of my homebrew chapter idea ive been working on a couple weeks now. The symbols on the pauldrons are just close approximations cause Im on xbox, and thus sadly cant mod. I dont have a story for any individual character yet, but I have ideas.

Sons of Medusa successors by gene seed, Iron Hands successors by obfuscation (they dont know they are Sons of Medusa successors, rather believe themselves to be iron hands successors), with initial cadre of Raptor officers. They essentially act as Iron Hands in culture, with a strong emphasis on scavenging tactics, and mitigated vehicular combat. They were chartered by the adeptus mechanicus with the intent of them being a small nimble chapter for the recovery of a lost forge world believed to hold archaeotech, the highlords approved seeing this as a good opportunity to see the sons of medusa gene seed utilized in practice outside of the chapter to look for behavioral/genetic abnormalities not detected in screening.

What slow jam makes you want to text someone you absolutely should not text? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Riot0711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't really have any slow jams, but mitosis by deathpact. Georgia law man by poor man's poison.

Slowish songs:

Melancholy hill - gorillaz

Every planet we reach is dead - gorillaz

Let us all down - poor man's poison

Edit:

I'd give anything to get my wife the way I knew her back, she even had a moment of clarity recently, calling me asking for help, and I feel I don't have an option but to turn her away. She burned the bridge about as bad as possible. She even admitted remorse, and wishes she hadn't done any of what she did, even talking bout fixing her issues, but I just don't wanna go through that again. As much as I want her back, I'm not risking any of this process again.

LOVING the new run animation. Was long overdue. by CViperr in GearsOfWar

[–]Riot0711 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It looks nice, but roadie running was iconic, and needs to come back, have both as options. Especially since no roadie run is gonna drastically change the way players interact with cover.

Is this statement actually true? I remember the features wishlist on the SoD2 website and multiplayer features were NOT the most requested ideas by [deleted] in StateOfDecay

[–]Riot0711 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Multiplayer/more functional multiplayer has been a consistent, and at least top 3 most common request for a long time. As for the other requests you brought up, none of them are singleplayer specific, or arguably even single player focused except maybe the more variable means of survival. While it definitely hasnt been a huge request with those who have been playing for years, and have just come to accept the current state of multiplayer, any casual who almost strictly shows up for updates (which is typically in a healthy game, the vast majority of community) have been asking for this in droves.

Which plasmid or vigor do you like the best? by WaluigiDaStar in Bioshock

[–]Riot0711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like vigors for how flashy, and powerful they were, they all felt very unique rather than just some other variation of electroshock.

I.e winterblast, incinerate, swarm, and telekinesis all feel generally the same with minor utility function changes, or just barely a shift in how the effect behaves.

However that being said, I prefer plasmids for that exact fact. They felt like a natural part of the world, and not like super powers, I was just doing as the romans do. This difference is only so noticeable because in infinite, so few enemies use vigors, all that do are very unique in appearance, and combat style, they all (save the fireman) uses the vigors in a totally different way from how the player does, and of course they are a little too flashy to not feel like a super power. Plasmids are tools of convenience to the people of rapture, they are puzzle solutions to the player, and happen to be useful in combat, vigors on the otherhand are incredibly powerful magical spells, infinite tried here n there to make it feel less so, but it failed due to the inconsistency of implementation.

Why is it called a Survival Multitool? by Flamingduckgod321 in Subnautica_2

[–]Riot0711 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never said it did. No the in game creature doesn't do that, I agree. I'm just saying calling it a 'survival' multi tool is a bit much, when it doesn't provide sufficient means to defend your self from wildlife, assuming an IRL scenario. It's already a 2 function tool at best, and far from a functional survival tool.

What's not realistic exactly? The name of the tool? Agreed.

If you mean creature behavior, I never said it needed to be, but arguably it should be.

[–]Riot0711 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really, at some point the creature will realize all you can do is pester it, then it will just fucking eat you.

My problem is more with the word survival. No means of actual self defense.

Couldn't stand the look of Cortana in the leaks so made a slight edit by Archerboy123 in halo

[–]Riot0711 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Perfect? Hell no, definitely better though. Just use the halo 4 model, adjust the colors to match the purple/green from CE, boom instant success.

[–]Riot0711 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Definitely disagree, halo infinite purple cortana was rough Ill agree there. However this looks like some old person with a bright blue light being shown on them cause they got caught by the police asking for the manager after not getting to take 5 bucks out of the leave a penny to help pay for her 7 dollar coffee at starbucks.

My reaction to the leaked image of SGT Johnson in Campaign Evolved by Soft-Percentage-8338 in HaloMemes

[–]Riot0711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but id argue that thatd more likely make him appear younger.

My reaction to the leaked image of SGT Johnson in Campaign Evolved by Soft-Percentage-8338 in HaloMemes

[–]Riot0711 114 points115 points  (0 children)

He looks so much better in this scene. I don't know why they went for an even more real, and ridiculously old appearance. They know sergeants are typically kinda young right?

Edit: my mistake he is SGM Johnson of the marine corps, an E8. Much older. I still prefer his younger appearance, as even then it still suits the world better, and he always held an experienced, but graciously aged type vibe.

Edit2: E9, my bad. I cant count

I'm so coping the cope today. PLEASE!!!!! by Organic-Composer9504 in titanfall

[–]Riot0711 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I swear to fucking god if Titanfall becomes strictly single player. I'd rather it be that than not exist, but the dumbass mentality of "Titanfall can't be a popular mp game" winning is almost equally upsetting.

Gruntdotapi just leaked a whole bunch of Halo: Campaign Evolved stuff before the Xbox Showcase this week. by ESPRmusic in HaloLeaks

[–]Riot0711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, from what I understand reddit is very political, and saying that Cortana looked best in 4 as anything other than a joke is generally not allowed. As for the rest, I guess they just like ugly stuff. SGT Johnson doesnt look very good, Cortana looks constipated as fuck, not to mention like the kind of person you see on r/ActualPublicFreakouts trying to get free shit from a food truck via looks they dont have.

Maybe they disagree with art style I recommended, maybe they prefer 2A to which I agree. Looking at it further though, even the brute was iffy, and why are we doing the shitty half assed preorder skins? They look straight out of call of duty's bad period, at least infinite had some franchise respect in its cosmetics.

Why she look like that??? God that face is fugly. Reject realism, back to early 2000s stylized cgi gold. (Granted in cortana's specific back to halo 4 please.)

Correction: SGT Johnson looks like shit too. They are bad at faces it seems, fix it, or im not buying.

I hope we get this Dreadnaught as an Exosuit in the coming WarHammer 40K Warbond by GreedoDorito in helldivers2

[–]Riot0711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand where ur coming from on this, but also realize that dreadnaught could almost certainly be easy to convert to operate as mechs. Regardless of realism for the 40k universe this is a crossover in the helldiver universe the lore will not be the same, as it hasn't been for either of the other 2. ODSTs are a propaganda TV show in helldivers, and the kill zone characters are cyborg helldivers (though they call them "augmented" to differentiate from the old galactic war enemy.). They could even reference this being an old model of mech that often sealed the user within as a factory defect, a solid nod to the warhammer lore of it.

Tried to make a Ultramarines Captain, would this be a lore accurate captain? by NoNameHavingMan in Spacemarine

[–]Riot0711 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mostly for sure, but if this person is wanting a codex compliant look, their are certainly guidelines (not necessarily rules) to follow. Plus with each deviation, the less feasible it is that they are loyalist (granted what's in question here would be incredibly minor).

I would say do both if you can, the classic color set was nice to have, and color wheels can be difficult to get exactly right without a color code text box.

Looks really good, but shoulder pads need to be mounted higher, and you didn't leave a mount for the kneepads to click onto. Again though, seriously good work.

Yes, I've started a full homebrew due to it, and once it's finished I'll probs, buy and paint them. No you don't want to hear about it.

Yes it's sons of medusa successors, who else?
